20070409_mildredpierce.jpgOn July 31, 2007, after 17 years of business, Mildred Pierce will be closing its doors.

I was terribly sad to read the news. Afterall, Mildred Pierce is one of the best brunch spots in the city. Hands-down.

After a great experience late last year, I touted this place to friends and family as the place to go for early grub. The recommendation was well received.

With four months to go until the restaurant is closed, you bet I will try to get a few meals in before then.

It's been around a lot longer than 7 years

Actually, Mildred Pierce has been open for 17 years.
Such a sad loss, they have one of the most romantic brunch settings in the city (not to mention the food is fantastic)

Yes, this is sad news - although it's lightened somewhat by the fact that the owners will be opening a new spot in October, where they promise to keep doing their famous brunches.

Whew, Greg that's good news. I was worried.

I have been telling visitors from out of town to go there for the best brunch ever... they always like the fact that the restaurant feels like a hidden gem.

They have the WORST service. I'm sort of glad they are closing. They have great brunches thought, I agree on that.

A real loss for the city of Toronto. Wonderful brunches or romantic dinners wrapped in a secret garden of roses. They have provided so many with good food, good drink and memorable experiences. I'm saddened by their closure but excited by a new Mildred and the prospect that Sarah may never find its address.
