The staff are not quite up on what qualifies as "vintage" or "modern". I had asked the staff about which designers they had, and they incorrectly identified a photo as "faux country" when it was a mid century vintage piece.

None of the staff are particularly savvy with the different era's that qualify as Mid Century modern. I've seen knock off they pass off at high prices, and none are truly "sustainable" if they are vintage: The era was known for its machine manufacturing of plastic varnishes, naugahyde and other synthetic fabrics.

If you want staff that think "angular" is the only definition of modern, Ethel is for you. If you want knowledgable and friendly staff, I'd look elsewhere.

As the owner of the store, I disagree with Nomi Zen's comments, and would like to clarify a few things. I've NEVER had a "faux country" photo in the store, I DO NOT sell knock-offs, and I've never once said "angular" equals modern. Since I'm sole proprietor, their references to multiple staff is wrong as well. I'm the only one here so they would've dealt with me and only me. Saying that "None of the staff are particularly savvy with the different era's that qualify as Mid Century modern." is incorrect and almost makes me think they are referring to a totally different store altogether. I've been collecting 20th Century Modern for over 20 years and am also an interior designer so I know more than the average "I watch MadMen so I know vintage" recent convert.
Reviews on public forums like this can do a lot to hurt a business, especially when they are overtly false and sound like they were possibly written about a different store. So, Nomi Zen, if you have a problem with my shop, come and talk to me personally.
And for anyone else who reads this site, just know that I am a very friendly shop owner who takes time to explain the furniture, WHY it's mid-century modern vs mid-century modest and who can spot a knock-off at twenty paces!
