EquilibriumEquilibrium bring new furniture options to the Junction. Offerings here include a mix of Canadian made pieces and modern imports. They carry some of the same lines as Elte, Casalife, Pavilion, Shelter, Restoration hardware, Up Country, GH Johnson and Morba.

This store is awesome - so glad I found it.They beat Elte by $400.00 and Casalife too. Best part is I didn't even have to ask, they just gave me the lowest price.
I bought a sofa from them and its so comfortable, and solid for wear and tear (my cats). The staff is so friendly, and its a fun atmosphere. I love the website too - it's easy to navigate and a lot of product that the competition sells is on there for easy picking, but Equilibrium has the lowest price so far that I know of.
The Canadian sofa line is the best I've seen in that entire area, lots to chose from and a great experience.
Price is the best in the city, my friends buy all their modern knock off furniture from them as well at a steal of a deal.
Kind and helpful staff with great product and the best prices I am a loyal customer as are my friends - we go to them first .

This store isn't your typical over the top showroom, but let me just say the product they can get in at the price they charge almost made me fall over. I asked about the 'eames lounge chair' and the price they had was $1100.00 whereas other stores are priced out over $1300.00 for the same product.
I was a bit worried at first that they couldn't get the product I like, but in fact they can. I really like this store and glad I gave it a try.
Mike / December 19, 2011 at 02:59 pm
Jess thanks for your tip. I just left there today. I got a stylus sofa from them for a great deal not to mention the famous modern furniture knock off chair by Hans for a great price!
Alana / December 22, 2011 at 11:49 am
wow I am so happy I found this place via blogto. I called in and they were quoting me a lot better price then most places on Queen street. I live downtown so I thought I was better off shopping downtown. Glad I did my research first - I saved over well over $1300.00 Thanks Equilibrium

This store donates to a variety of charitable organizations in which I feel is a must when you are running a business. I find a majority of business's do not give back to the community. Aside from that I must say they have a lot of Canadian product on their floor. I feel as though this store is doing the right thing by giving back and supporting Canadian lines. I happily shop here when I am looking for furniture.
zencythomas / December 22, 2011 at 06:13 pm
buy best with low price online
Positive review / December 23, 2011 at 07:54 pm
So happy I found this place. I am done going to other stores for modern furniture knock offs. This place can't be beat I'm convinced! Also saw some of the same sofas as Urban barn but lower price at Equilibrium.. Stylus Sofas ?... Fantastic little shop!
Jamie / December 27, 2011 at 01:22 pm
Just make sure you ask for your product if you don't see it on the floor. Hey if the staff didn't tell me I wouldn't have thought to ask for a particular product I saw down the street at a much higher price point.
I had to mention this story, it was that easy. A walk down the street and I saved big time.
FAN / January 2, 2012 at 02:50 pm
Store has a large variety.
I was looking at the Mika sofa by Stylus but went with a lower end company they sell. The sales staff are really helpful. I didn't know what I wanted but then they broke it down for me. In this case I wanted a 5yr fix. I walked away with a grey sofa for 499, side table for 119, and a occasional chair for 199. This place is great for all people with all budgets. Satisfied customer.

I was in here yesterday and overheard the owner talking to someone from the Marilyn Dennis show . From what I have been hearing around the neighbourhood and reading online and in newspaper this store is going to be the next big thing. I am already a customer I just don’t want this store to loose its ‘charm’.
Betty / January 7, 2012 at 02:14 pm
sweetest owner in the world
Mandyd / January 16, 2012 at 11:55 am
Dropped by, blonde girl helped me and my boyfriend. Very polite and knew her stuff. Suprised by the down to earth salesmanship , really no pressure. I really liked it here, it isn't your over the top snobfest atmosphere. I am going to buy this week from them. Bottom line they beat everyones price.
Mena / January 19, 2012 at 12:03 pm
Not crazy for what they have in the showroom. I like 'higher end' stores, although a sale's person told us they can get in more products. I started looking through the books and found a chair I was about to buy at Morba. Equilibrium quoted me around 10% less, so I bought it through them.
Chris / January 21, 2012 at 12:26 pm
I've heard nothing but good things about this store, especially their commitment to their community! When I'm in the area next I definitely plan on checking it out. CB2 just opened down the street from me, but I will definitely be checking Equilibrium before I decide to purchase ANYTHING furniture related. Support local, hard working stores!
Stacy&John / January 25, 2012 at 03:50 pm
This store lacks lustre, and I didn't believe all the positive comments. Maybe I'm a Debbie downer but Toronto and good customer service , yah okay. I checked the store out with my boyfriend, and I dealt with a girl who was actually very kind and helpful which surprised me. I later looked at the site and I guess I was dealing with the owner. Maybe this store is so successful because this owner is there everyday or maybe its because she is competitive. She certainly hooked us with her bottom line pricing. For me I like a higher end showroom, but to be fair the customer service was excellent, the product they have does cater to everyone, I can get the high end stuff through them, at the end of the day I will return.

I agree

sweet beautiful modern furniture store
not a product in hand store / February 22, 2012 at 12:26 pm
This store is small, with a tiny selection, although they can get in a lot more. I would not suggest this store for the shopper who wants to go in, see multiple seclection and/or leave with the product in hand, this is not that type of store.
I don't mind waiting for my product, and I enjoy supporting this store rather than Elte, Urban barn, and the others.
They have the same product and they give us the lowest price as advertised everywhere on their site and windows.

Love this store.
stylus sofas / February 22, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Lowest price for Stylus that I have seen. They beat everyone, and I shop around. Most important they wanted me as a client so they treated me really well and I appreciated that . Its a big purchase and I rather not give it to the other guys as they couldn't give a shit about me. Equilibrium also worked with my budget, its true that they really do work with you.
Mel / March 19, 2012 at 05:46 pm
Samantha gave me a great idea for a layout. I went with her advice and she shopped for me and I got the entire annoying situation done with. No headache. I am so happy with my space and didn't have to pay a penny to any designer.
I am now moving on to my den with her, so far she has completed my living room, bedroom, and dining. I will be posting pics on facebook. Great job and product.
stuffypostman / March 20, 2012 at 12:13 pm
Maybe not the nicest store, but the nicest staff, besides I went on the website and found everything I needed. They really do cover every line you can desire.
Easy to work with / March 25, 2012 at 02:27 pm
Deal with Samantha for design advice, she knows her stuff. The staff is great for purchasing only, I would not recommend you look for advice from them. I find the owner can narrow in on product in a matter of seconds whereas the staff takes far too long and end up calling Samantha anyways.
Jase / March 25, 2012 at 08:10 pm
Really? Is this a charity shop...totally tacky! Maybe the owner should come up with an original idea? Mind you, she is catering to a degenerate crowd! Oh, and stylus sofas are crap!
Casey / March 27, 2012 at 02:18 pm
I just bought a new Stylus sofa from Equilibrium this weekend, my last Stylus sofa lasted my family 15 years, I enjoy the product. I really enjoy this store's charm. They have a unique driven concept unlike any other furniture store on the market.
nice boutique / March 28, 2012 at 10:17 am
Better than Morba? Price points yes.
Huge selection on floor? No
Tacky? I agree that some of the artwork is
Overall? Great staff, great product, and original items.
I have owned a Stylus before too, and it lasted me well over 10 years, I am changing it because I want a new style, and yes so far they have given me the lowest price.
Steve / March 28, 2012 at 01:25 pm
I am happy to have this store join The Junction.
In a sea of reclaimed, and salvaged furniture and decor items they have modern, contemporary, and elegance. Thanks for coming to our neighbourhood Equilibrium!
a joy to deal with / April 10, 2012 at 01:54 pm
This store gets pretty packed on Saturday. I would strongly suggest if you have questions e-mail them before hand.I had to wait for help and I should have just e-mailed them or called before hand. I didn't realize this store would be so busy.
Later on I ended up buying 12 sofas for my lounge along with stools, chairs, and tables. Best service I have seen in a long time. Really happy to deal with them. I recieved my order on time and there was no problems . I can't tell you how many stores I went to before this one. I will be sticking with Equilibrium because really they are a joy to deal with and charged a lot less then the 'big' guys.
Canadasgottalentstaff / April 10, 2012 at 03:15 pm
I work on the set of Canada's got talent and just ran across this post. Our Excel Fresh lounge Sofas were purchased through Equilibrium. They are standing up well and look super modern on TV.
Soung / April 10, 2012 at 06:04 pm
Small Toronto furniture store. I bought online, not what I wanted in the store so I went to website
A nice change to downtown / May 2, 2012 at 04:19 pm
I went to this store today, to see what all this buzz was about. I was welcomed by a staff member, and wasn't followed around or bothered. The word must have really spread about this store as there was a mountain of furniture ready to go out the door, and I happened to notice the young lady was working with a couple and their layout . Free design advise from an interior decorator, go figure , that’s a +.
They have a diverse store, and I ended up buying 8 dining chairs from them.
They had the better price out of all the stores on Queen street, King street, and many others., but some stuff I did see on online stores at a better price.
Its true that a lot of the product on the website is not on the showroom floor. The showroom is small but warm and welcoming I would suggest stopping by if you enjoy down to earth shopping and honest sales staff , but if you enjoy stuck up sales staff and cold showrooms then I would greatly suggest you stick to their online website.
bob / May 9, 2012 at 09:21 am
Seems that most of these comments were written by the owner. From her website, she's"operated many furniture stores" etc etc and she's 25??? Self-promotion is ok but keep it real and reasonable. And by the way Stylus sofas are made in Vancouver so you pay at least $100 to ship them here. Buy something made in Toronto instead and save that.
Sharon / May 10, 2012 at 07:15 pm
Stylus is great. I have had mine for 5 weeks now and I saved a lot of money buying from Equilibrium. I was looking at Brentwood classics, made in Toronto but they were charging me more money? I also bought a grey sofa for my daughter at $599.00. We are both happy customers and happy to shop here.
Nicole / June 6, 2012 at 03:35 pm
! Thank you Equilibrium for opening in the Junction. I am so sick of all the reclaimed furniture in the area. You offer something different. I read a review on Yelp and came to your store to take a look. Very impressed. Looking forward to shopping here.
Jolanta / June 7, 2012 at 06:18 pm
This store is umm sumwhat hidden, so keep your eyes wide open. I went on the wrong day, the store was jammed full and I didn't get any service so instead I took a card and emailed them... it seems they are great with customer service... because of the personal shopping service on Equilibrium's part I got the perfect bookcase for my condo at the price I wanted to pay, only waited a week too. Plus very cute delivery men I must say!
Tran / July 5, 2012 at 11:32 am
The have great deals going on right now. I can't stop shopping here.Only store in Toronto that offers free design advice matched with a lowest price guarantee. I don't think anyone else has this plan.
Gloria Lety / July 13, 2012 at 06:24 pm
Equilibrium made a quick draft for my condo. They took into consideration my color scheme, lifestyle, and most important my budget.
I trust Equilibrium and bought most of the items from them as they do seem to have the lowest price for all items including my gorgeous sofa from Stylus.
Sam referred me to Shelter for one piece as well, she was open and honest in stating that this one particular item was cheaper at Shelter and unfortunately couldn't beat their price. I really respected her intentions.

For free design advice and not having to deal with pretentious designers I really suggest Equilibrium for guidance. I sent Sam my requested ‘wish list’ as well as my layout with measurements and a few photos of existing furniture in the space and a paragraph indicating what I wanted in the space. I also included some photos of some furniture items I was head over heels for and she seemed to work them into my tight budget.

Great advice, nice store, friendly tone.

T.Parker / July 21, 2012 at 01:14 pm
Yes great store
Best price for Modern classics / July 31, 2012 at 02:37 pm
About 1% in the showroom, I'd say 99% online. Be prepared. Good service though and nice store but I purchased from the website via e-mail. Paid a lot less than Morba was charging.
Mitch / August 4, 2012 at 10:30 am
This store looks completely different then the picture shows
Best store in The Junction / August 7, 2012 at 03:52 pm
Mitch is right, a lot better art work and furniture I would say but the photo was taken almost a year ago.
This is by far my favorite store in The Junction.
So inviting. The website they have features all the modern classics that everyone on Queen street and King st carry. The store features Canadian made sofas mostly and accent tables & decor.
No joke though they really do have the lowest prices.
Joey / August 30, 2012 at 06:20 pm
Down to earth
Price conscious
Great design advice
Experts at selecting the right pieces
Simply excellent at what they do!
Becky / September 8, 2012 at 03:24 pm
Grams loves this store, my mom and dad love this store, and my boyfriend and I love it. It speaks to us all. I strongly recommend shopping here.
NOAH / September 13, 2012 at 05:40 pm
After shopping at nearly every furniture store in Toronto and Mississauge I finally purchased a sofa here. They had a great selection, great quality.
BGluk / October 20, 2012 at 12:49 pm
I've been dealing with the owner at Equilibrium for the past 7 years. Now that she has her own store she gives us the hottest product at the lowest price we shop with them only, not on Queen street, King street east, or up North!

My entire design team and I deal with Equilibrium. If they don't have the product we want they sure have a substitue which is fine with us and our clients especially with the money they save.

Its great to see how busy this store is now, and we will continue to support them.
Marlone / October 26, 2012 at 02:00 pm
Friendly staff with lots of knowledge
Lots of products and its affordable
D. Krass / October 28, 2012 at 02:02 pm
I would recommend sending what you are looking for by email. This store was packed, some lady trampled over a rug with her baby stroller and destroyed it, and another mother was letting her child attack the poor dog after the store owner asked her to not let the child attack the dog meanwhile another child picked up a vase and smashed it on the ground. I don’t know what people are thinking it’s a showroom. Anyways I sympathized with the owner and sent her an e-mail rather than dealing with her in the store amidst all of the chaos and she got back to me right away, and I am happy to say I just purchased a Stylus sofa 15% less than their competitors and would recommend buying Stylus here . I have shopped around for months and this place had the best price.
Trev Mack / November 22, 2012 at 05:50 pm
For the post above, wow TMI.
Cant shop here enough, great service, excellent prices. They have always been my 'go to' store.

They have grown so much in the last two years it astounds me. They have the recipe for success.

I'm a fan, can’t complain.
For a Toronto furniture store they have amazing sofas , and they support Canadian lines and it beats going to the very over priced big furniture giants who have no character nor knowledge for design or construction.
Spencer / December 8, 2012 at 05:25 pm
They should award this store for best product and customer service. I walked away happy here, nice change for what Toronto has to offer.
Marlene / December 26, 2012 at 01:02 pm
Equilibrium, thanks for the deal today. That sofa reduced to $849.00 from $1899.00 was a steal. Thank you and I have already spread the word about your service. You guys are great at what you do, the best in Toronto!
TORONTO FURNITURE SHOPPER / January 23, 2013 at 12:27 pm
I walked in this store today before going to Urban barn, and I didn't know they sold Stylus sofas, so I asked about a sofa I liked in the fabric I was about to go buy it in. Without even mentioning the other price point they were selling the same item, same fabric at $120.00 less. SO I BOUGHT IT!
Taylor / January 23, 2013 at 05:35 pm
I just got my chairs today from them. My experience was very different. It wasn’t exactly what everyone is saying here. I’d say go prepared, or set up an appointment. I could tell they didn't appreciate the fact that I was there to eat up their time.
They are extremely serious, professional, and to the point. I did order through them and bottom line they gave me superior service. No problems whatsoever, so I don’t mind that they are tough.
Sachin / January 24, 2013 at 04:05 pm
It amazes me that the Interior Designer that opened this store managed to get all my furniture for my entire house at a very competitive price and she also made 3d layouts of my space, and that was for free. I worked with a Interior Designer who gave me a lot less and charged a lot more. Luckily I accidentally stumbled across Equilibrium who gave me expert advice and within 2 months I had my entire house furnished on my price level .I wouldn't be shy toa sk for help again, they are great at what they do.
Candice / January 29, 2013 at 01:31 pm
Last year I walked in not knowing hat to expect, and I am happy to say ever since I set foot in this store I was pleasantly surprised.
For many years as a designer I haven’t been able to find a decent retail furniture store that was fast, efficient, and had a large variety of order in products. Equilibrium is now my one stop shop for my clients and as an older woman in this business it makes my life so much easier.
