Contest: Win a pair of passes to see Indie Game and Parlovr at the Open Roof Festival
Indie Game is a truly wonderful movie. Think King of Kong, but focusing on the eccentricity, egos, and ultimately, the thirst for human connection at the heart of game developers. Beautifully shot, fascinating and emotive, the documentary tracks several developers including Jonathan Blow, long after his unprecedented success with Braid, and the increasingly unbalanced Phil Fish, developer of the ever-delayed FEZ. For me, the movie's greatest strength is its sensitive portrayal of the creators of Super Meat Boy, the story of a skinless boy braving an array of meat grinders to find his girlfriend who is, appropriately, made of bandages (cue 'aww's, or 'eww's, depending).
Sound good? Open Roof Festival is generously offering you a pair of passes to their screening of the film, and attendees will also enjoy musical act Parlovr. As with every Open Roof event, there'll be food (Come and Get It), wine and beer available.
10 lucky film fans will receive two passes each to the August 9th screening of Indie Game: The Movie (around 9pm) with musical guest Parlovr (8pm), which will be held at the The Amsterdam Brewery (21 Bathurst St.).
