The $800,000 condo in Toronto is a tricky price point. You'd think that an investment of this size would guarantee you lots of space and a fair degree of luxury, but it's hard to differentiate much with what $700K gets you in this market. You'll be able to live downtown, to be sure, but don't bank on not feeling cramped at times.

$799,000 in Liberty Village
This 1,100 square foot corner unit in Liberty Village features two bedrooms plus a den over two floors. Perhaps even better, the condo comes with a 430 square foot private terrace that overlooks BMO Field and the Ex grounds, which will appeal to sporting fans and barbecue aficionados alike. Maintenance fees come in at $743.17 a month, which get you a fitness facility among other things.

$775,000 on King East
Though it's only a one bedroom plus den, this suite comes in at 1,355 square feet over two floors. It also has a fireplace and south-facing terrace. It won't work for a growing family, but with a large master bedroom and slick layout, it's ideal for empty nesters or young professionals who've started to earn well. Maintenance fees are $682.50 a month.

$779,000 in Leaside
This uptown condo might be a bit bland, but it'll cost you a pretty penny to live right beside Sunnybrook Park. For just under $800K you'll get two bedrooms, three washrooms, a small balcony, and lots and lots of building amenities, including a guest suite, billiard room, and the standard pool/gym. Maintenance fees come in at $720.78 a month.

$799,000 in the Beaches
This brand new suite is just a short walk to the beach and right in the heart of the action on Queen East. The unit itself is fairly standard - two bedrooms and two bathrooms - but it has a nice patio and significantly lower maintenance fees than many condos in this price range at just $508 a month.

$829,000 across from High Park
If you can afford to go above the $800K mark, you'll be rewarded with options like this condo right beside High Park. The unit hasn't been staged in a particularly exciting manner, but just think of living above one of Toronto's nicest green spaces with a view all the way down to the lake. It's a 1,000 square feet with two bedrooms/bathrooms, and maintenance fees are reasonable at $583 a month.

$838,000 at Church and Charles
If you like lots of light, this unit in Casa Condos should do the trick with its floor-to-ceiling windows. With an open concept and a super long balcony, this unit feels very spacious, even if the master bedroom is on the small side. You will get nailed on your monthly fees here, though. They come in at over $900, which shouldn't be too surprising given the location and decent amenities.
