Rob Ford animation clips take a (very) dark turn

Posted by Derek Flack / December 12, 2013

Rob Ford AnimationWe've seen some pretty out there animations of Rob Ford since the crack controversy broke earlier this year, from wacky Taiwanese takes on the mayor's popularity rating to late night talk shows riffing on holiday classics. But this new clip from Next Media Animation surely takes the cake for creepy factor.

Less funny than it is chilling and bizarre, the narrative follows Ford through a failed re-election attempt, divorce, and ultimately his death (I won't reveal how that happens, but you can probably guess). Although I wouldn't call it realistic, the clip makes one uncomfortable precisely because at least some of it is imaginable. Is it tasteful? Not in the slightest. Does it cross a line? Probably. And yet it's hard to stop watching after you've hit play.

Rob Ford will never go broke like that. His family business will keep him afloat. The rest is a possibility though.

That was morbid, yet amazing. At the beginning I thought he was gonna die in prison.

Well that video is totally inaccurate, first come election time Rob Ford would not be that fat anymore because by then it will have been a year and working out for two hours a day for a year would mean he would be fit as a fiddle. Second, even if he lost the election and lost his wife he wouldn't end up in a seedy hotel when he has a free place to stay on Windsor Road. Lastly Rob Ford would never drink in a bar, he likes to drink behind schools, in basements or at city hall.

Yeah I know right? I would expect these taiwanese animators to know those specific details as well.

More importantly, how would Rob Ford's corpse fare in the next election?

Great animation and delivery... excellent. Very sad. Although I can't stand the Brothers Ford... at first I thought this video was a bit over the edge. Then I thought why not an animation such as this. Ford has done everything in his power to bring this character analysis paralysis about. I thought the world media was done with Ford but Jimmy Fallon put out a nice monologue the other night. How he could he not... Ford is someone that keeps on giving. He needs a makeover.
Death of a President was a 2006 British high concept motion picture about the fictional assassination of George W. Bush, the 43rd U.S. President, on 19 October 2007 in Chicago, Illinois.
Sadly - it was just a movie. GWB could have been assassinated and I would have bought a round of drinks in a bar.
Rob Ford... clean up your act.
I have a bit more compa

One is defamation, the other is not. Simple as that.

Did you actually use just the term "Nancy Boy", like for real? Am i reading that. I suppose you probably use the N word too, but only in contect right? Seriously, don't be such a heinous bigoted human and maybe people will like you more.

Pretty much this. Ford is an ass and horribly unqualified to be mayor, but like Darth Vader I do sense some good in him. Perhaps this may be the wake up call he needs to get control of his life.

Which would get more votes: Living Rob Ford or Dead Rob Ford?

Wow. The Next Media guys are usually pretty wacky and silly, so for Rob Ford's situation to inspire them to come up with this? Pretty dire.

Deeply strange, maybe this is their annual PSA? Nothing much to do with the real Ford, I know kind hearted people think of him this way, but he's not a victim, he's a brash, simple, arrogant lying bully who will never have to want for money. The crack thing is but a single symptom of his screwed up psychology, not a morbid obsession he's addicted to. I'm sure he's has done all sorts of drugs over the years, and will continue, all symptoms of an addictive personality. Really, I just wish the jerk(and his brother) would go away.

I see this as a cautionary video.

Someone who weighs almost 350 lb., engages in binge drinking of beer and vodka, and smokes crack cocaine certainly has a short life expectancy.

That is true whether the viewer admires Rob Ford or despises him.
