Twitter reacts to Rob Ford's removal from office

Posted by Chris Bateman / November 26, 2012

toronto rob fordAs expected, the Twitter reaction to Justice Charles Hackland's ousting of mayor Rob Ford this morning was quick and, frankly, overwhelming. Right now, there are still plenty of question marks around the exact wording of the ruling, how it will affect Rob Ford's appeal, and his chances at a by-election, should one be held.

Naturally, it didn't take long for the obligatory Ford jokes to surface. There are currently at least two spoof Craigslist posts on the subject and one weird cardboard cutout in Nathan Phillips Square. Here are some of the best reactions seen online today:

Rob Ford could do what Mohamed Morsi did in Egypt and declare himself that his decisions are supreme, irrevocable and immune against appeal before any court of law in our land. Which tried to do already.

Rob Ford a fine man and a good politician very honest and trustworthy. He will win the next Election by a wide margin. I will cast my vote for him.

1 day, two days....How long do you think it'll be before Georgio Mammoiliti starts auditioning to be Olivia Chow's lapdog?

Wrong answer! It's 2:47 pm and he's already auditioning. He's stepping down from Executive Committee in the interests of his constituents. His constituents are very concerned with what's happening at City Hall and he doesn't want to appear biased.
