The photos of the week: June 16 - 22
The photos of the week collect each of the editor-selected photos of the day into one post for a contest to be decided by our readers. Sponsored by Posterjack, the photographer whose image receives the most votes will be awarded with a voucher code for a 24"x36" poster print of their work.
All the rules and fine-print can be found in the original announcement post on the blogTO Flickr page. One thing to add, however, is that the voting period ends at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, after which the winner will be contacted with the good news.
For those photographers whose images are featured below, please feel free to give us a little information about your shot — i.e. where and when it was taken — in the comments section. Who knows? Maybe your description will sway voters in your favour!

#6 - you got my vote.
Ultimately its all just opinions and the only one that matters is the editors

I voted for the Gardner shot.
nobody is saying that photoshop isn't a skill, and I'm sure every one of the above photos has gone through either PS or lightroom for adjustments of some kind. But it should still be a photo that is as close to what the photographer saw with their eyes as can be.
but photoshopping the milky way onto a photo of the Gardiner?
maybe someone should PS Tower Bridge over the eastern gap, or Rob Ford flying through the air on a winged Double-Down and we can all vote on that as well. Its about as close to reality as the Milky Way shot.
Yes, I did use Photoshop to give it a tilt-shift effect. I felt it would really help viewers to focus on a scene that I was shooting from over 2km away.
I am not trying to "benefit from anyone's misery", I simply saw something happening and tried to capture the moment.
There was no ambulance on the scene, no indication that anyone was hurt, and if you look at my Flickr comments you'll see I clearly stated that I hope everyone was OK.
I didn't even know that blogTO had a Photo of the Week contest, but I am honoured to be chosen amongst these other great photos here.
Let me know if there are any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you.
yes, digital images are manipulated but the best sort of processing is the stuff you can't even notice.
The question is: What level of processing should be acceptable for these contests?
