The rain kind of sucks, but it makes for some fine photos

Posted by Derek Flack / September 16, 2010

rain torontoSo it's a pretty miserable day out there, with a cold rain falling since this morning. I actually got soaked on a little coffee run earlier today, which made me a bit more annoyed than it probably should have. So, as a sort of token apology to the rain gods, I thought I'd put together a little photo collection of rain shots in the blogTO Flickr pool.

I'm not sure if they'll make up for getting soaked or for walking around with wet feet, but, hey, they're pretty. Well, most of them at least - I couldn't hep but throw in a few moody ones as well.

Lead photo by tomms.

Flickr member Chewie2008~ has a remarkable series of rain shots from around Toronto, of which these are but a few:

Gray van der Meer also has some good ones:20100916-rain_grvd.jpgLarger sizes.

And, not to forget, the requisite bokeh shot

And there's tons more in the slide show below, organized by Flickr's strange designation "interestingness."

"that it probably should have."
THAN it probably should have.

This sentence just isn't cooperating with you eh? Let's just 'blame it on the rain.'

Thanks for the post.

I love the sentiments captured of such a miserable day. It goes to show that beauty is still to be seen & experienced. Thanks for the postings!
