City of Toronto Photo Contest Winners

Posted by Jerrold Litwinenko / January 19, 2010

toronto photo contestThe City of Toronto has announced the winners of their "Building a great city - together" photo contest.

Back in the spring of 2009, some 690 photographers, who'd had their cameras honed on our beloved city, collectively submitted more than 4000 photographs in 13 categories. It's taken some time (the contest closed back in June of 2009, but we had a little... ahem... problem at that time that presumably required shuffling of priorities) but the winners and honorable mentions have now all been posted for the world to enjoy. Here are the 1st place photos in each category.

All great except that Toronto at Night one. Its amertureish, lacks any artistic direction or style. More a technical 'oh wow a long shutter!' picture, which even when done artistically is usually cliche.

What were the prizes? The city website appears to be a bit vague on that. They're beautiful shots, and Metrix X certainly cleaned up!
