gasp! brilliant!

Hahaha first one hit especially close to home, I'm doing the climb Saturday!! I've never found Rotate This employees to be anything but helpful, if you'll ask them stuff... I think they have this big buildup about their coolness, but really just work in a cool record shop and actually know a lot about music

Good take on TTC efficiency; if only we could get rid of all the people...

I also enjoyed the one about Jet Fuel and Rotate This (The likenesses are uncanny!), except I don't usually call people snobs if they look like they slept in the rubbish bin out back (is that the new black?).

Haha, i think it might help that you are a girl to get the "upscale" treatment ;P

Danielle on April 15, 2009 at 11:51 AM

Oh Jet Fuel wins, hands down. Their lack of prices, their refusal to make certain drinks. I use to work down the street and had coworkers who were scared to go in and yet people will defend them to the end. Why does being complete jerkfaces garner so much loyalty?

so true about jet fuel- they don't even serve coffee- as if it's below them.

GlobalH on April 15, 2009 at 1:12 PM

Yeah, I'll never get the "Rotate This employees are snobby" meme that goes around this city - they've never been anything but unfailingly helpful to me, and I occasionally show up looking a bit like a suit. I always think that the people who claim that Rotate people have attitude are just having their own 'tude reflected right back at them.

This just goes to show, even tho I think i have discovered all of Toronto, there is so much I have not yet even explored!

I'll put my thinking cap on when looking at next weeks drawing explorations!

My TTC rant: before I started buying Metropasses, I had to deal with the ticket collectors making ~$20/hr w/ unlimited overtime on a weekly basis. One time I was buying $7.50 worth of tickets and, not wanting a ton of change, I gave $12.50. He then stared at me for about half a minute, said "are you serious?", gave me back all the money I gave (a $10 bill, a twonie and 2 quarters) and told to only give him a bill. I just wanted a $5 as change :(

Oh, and cute WWF panda :D

Carlos on April 15, 2009 at 3:21 PM

Haha! i just remembered i had done something with the WWF panda before!

Nice sketches. I love your sketches from the first time i saw it. And still now, it's great. I wonder what that lady says?:)

Yeah, the rotate thing is unfounded. I've been going for years and years and they've always been so nice and friendly.
