hahahaha "i think i can move some things around" definitely very true "rockstar" feeling... followed by a "F, this organization makes my social events feel like functions, not fun moments of spontaneity...

living in the now.... very funny!

I don't get these, either. Seems like they're all inside jokes (this and previous postings) or just not very funny/smart/satirical.

"coke by the water"???...no capeeesh... and is the plane poop cartoon about that band whose tour bus showered another car with excrement?...

Haha really you guys are having trouble getting the jokes? Not even 'The Coke'? as in Etobicoke?...
Anyhooo....haha i guess i can't cater to all, haha but i'm trying ;)

Can't cater to all? Are you actually catering to ANYONE but yourself?

I've never heard Etobicoke referred to as "The Coke" in my life and I've lived here nearly 40 years.

Haha really? I guess you've never had friends from that area, i heard that term after just living in Toronto for a year. Plus, the motel sign was given, that area in Etobicoke is like Motel central!

ps. I wanna join Popfuel, haha please don't revoke my application due to these comments :P

I lived in Etobicoke for 20some odd years and often referred (and still do) as "the coke".

I don't get most of them either. I just figure I'm not "cool" enough... case in point: lots of family/friends in Etobicoke and never heard it once called the Coke.

Living in the now is so true. Really when did everyone get so special that you have to coordinate calendars to figure out when you might hang out this season?

Hey clever....good work carlos, i get it now......sort of a smoke on the water pun thingy, cool.....maybe purple ink would have had a greater impact?

"I guess you've never had friends from that area," he just said he'd lived here nearly 40 years.
i do live in etobicoke, and i do refer to it as "the coke" or "e-coke", as do many of my friends, but i did not get that comic either.
to be honest, i agree with the others who've posted similar sentiments; most of these just seem like big inside jokes.
don't get me wrong, i do want to like these but, well...

I figure if you don't get them, you just don't get 'em. But if you don't get them and whine about it? You're obviously not cool enough.

:)

I love noteTOself, I check for it every week. I just moved to Toronto from another country about 4 months ago and I get 80% of the jokes. I made my first trip to Leslieville last week - "oh Real Jerk, I get it now!!" hehe

I think people have trouble understanding these because they're super-local. I also have never heard of Etobicoke referred to as "The Coke", and the Coca-Cola lettering implies that the city wasn't being referred to anyway. I imagined a tumbler of coke on a Muskoka chair.

The "Living in the Now" cartoon I took to mean the changing weather patterns, but there's no context (so what's the commentary?) either way. Or is that intended?

Still, the few that apply to all Torontonians are minimalistically clever, so it's not all bad :)

I have to disagree, Corina.

I thought this was blogTO, as in blogToronto, not blogMyLocalNeighbourhood or blogForMyFriends. I guess the question is, who's the intended audience, because I definitely don't feel like it's me.

ok kids it was not meant to rile anyone up. they are silly drawings about things the artist thinks about. sometimes they're more cryptic, and sometimes they're pure gold.

please unbunch your panties.

"In 1998, six local municipalities (including Etobicoke) and the Metropolitan Toronto government merged to form the amalgamated city of Toronto.".. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etobicoke,_Ontario
So we need to be talking about Toronto generally?...as in Cn Tower, charming Annex, Ed Mirvish this and that, blah blah?.Hey, those are neighbourhoods too!!!Crap!
