Zellers' Cure for Toronto's Bed Bugs
It's not news that many Toronto homes and apartments have a bed bug infestation. Howard Moscoe appealed for them to be designated a health hazard and fingers have been pointed at Toronto Community Housing to clean up their act.
(Hey - but at least we're not Vancouver)
But finally after years of neglect, denial and hoping that the problem would just go away we have a savior - and it's Zellers. One of their stores recently dedicated an entire display to insecticide (the aptly named Super Kill 2) that will obliterate the persistent creatures.
Thanks for the tip and photos from the East York Tenants Group.

Kidding, I think you can still use them. But not on plants.
The problem is huge, anyone can get them, and they are incredibly evil little bugs.
All it took for me was a good clean of my bedroom and keeping stuff off the floor by the walls. Even if they are still alive in the wall/under the baseboards they will die eventually.
Lesson learned: Taking a box spring found in your hallway is a bad idea.
I don't think I'll be using the cloakroom there.
Also, I read that there are several "bug proof" covers on the market that haven't been lab tested, so if you do see them for sale, make sure to take note of the brand so we can do some research.
Thanks!
Have a professional service do this - they have the products and procedures to do it right. If you use an exterminator and don't treat your laundry then you will probably see them in your house again soon.

It's all they do - helped me more than I can say.
Also, in response to 'Wendy', be careful if you're going to spray rubbing alcohol - doing that can be very dangerous. I researched this subject for countless hours and the conclusion is that DIY'ers have their heart in the right place but when it comes to bed bugs, only a pro has access to the chemicals that can really give you a fighting chance at success.
