What's Your Story? Furs and Knee Highs

What's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.

Name: Trisha

Age: 33

What neighbourhood are you from? The Junction

What do you 'do'? Will work for food.

How long have you been in Toronto? 4 years

What's your story?

Perpetual malcontent who moves from city to city in search of a cure for boredom.

I've ostensibly run out of destinations (until I relocate to Winnipeg) and am, for now, content in the 'burg of the Junction.

I used to work in a boring, square office job which I hated. Now, I work to pay the bills.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

It's not Vancouver.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

It's not on the ocean.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

Take them to Little India for food and shopping, go see Albino Carreira's house (Clinton N. of Barton) and no doubt, out for drinks in the Junction. I may make them wear furs and/or knee highs to entertain me.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

I'm not actually as mean as I purport to be.

What would the difference be if Toronto was by an ocean? Salt water instead of fresh water?

No, really, what does she do? It all sounds....sketchy and vague.

This "profile" really irritates me on several levels. Is this NOW magazine's "My (so-called) Style" in disguise?

If you think that lake ontario is in any way comparable to being ocean front, you've obviously never spent a significant amount of time by the ocean, haha.

I do think it's funny how she used to work and hated it, and now works and still hates it, but still feels the need to differentiate.

to say that she's not as mean as she puports to be, dressing her friends in fur for the sole purpose of entertaining herself sure sounds like she's mean. so, being a bitch is her hobby? at some point, not everyone will love what they do, but the bills still need to be paid. suck it up. i think the knee-high socks are cutting circulation to her brain.

Not that I don't appreciate snark as much as the next person, but this profile stands in marked contrast to the recent one about Cyrus the Emo, who was so sweet and sincere and actually told us something about himself.

She'd make her friends try on fur to entertain her? yea, of course, because killing animals for a momentary glimpse of humour in fashion is always SO much fun! She makes me sick.

I would torch a mink farm to make her smile for one moment.

What's with the peanut gallery?

Maybe if you asked more interesting questions (I mean really...if I have to read "What's your favorite thing about Toronto" one more time...) you'd get more interesting responses.

What's up all of your asses anyway?
