What's Your Story? Windows

Posted by kathleen / July 3, 2008

20080703---Nelson-main.jpgWhat's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.

Name: Nelson

Age: 30

What neighbourhood are you from? Scarborough

What do you 'do'? I'm a high-rise window cleaner

How long have you been in Toronto? Most of my life.

What's your story?

I'm the father of 8 children ranging from 1-10 years. I like what I do.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

The sights - the Skydome, the CN Tower, museums. The fast pace.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

The pollution.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

I guess I could show them Eaton Centre, downtown, the CN Tower, Skydome, and a big theatre.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

That I'm a high-rise window cleaner. I tell them I wash windows but they don't really know what I do.

8 children! That's too many. Somebody buy this man a condom!

That's a crazy job! but I appreciate what these people do.

When I procrastinate, I can look at the sky and clouds or I could look at dry deposit and bird poop. Thank you for keeping my view clear!

i love that the true nature of his work is a secret to his friends and family. Like a superhero, or a prostitute.

@ Ben - That was brutally unfunny stupid and immature. Shut the fuck up next time.

And yes, that was way to short. It feels like the interview got cut off.

ya, we need more than a few details. I wanna know if he's ever seen naked ladies through the windows.

That was bizarre.
Sounds like a questionaire from my family Dr.

Or maybe Nelson is a man of few words. The strong, silent type.

@ SCREWFACE

Whoa, take it down a notch. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see what was so offensive about Ben's admittedly not-so-classy remark. Can't say I wasn't thinking the same thing (about the first half anyway).
