Toronto Cyclists Union's Big Adventure
"I wouldn't sell my bike for all the money in the world. Not for a hundred million, trillion, billion dollars!" -- Pee-Wee Herman, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, 1985.
Join Pee-Wee tonight at The Bloor Cinema for a fundraiser screening in support of the new Toronto Cyclists Union, a membership-based organization formed by Dave Meslin that provides a unified voice for Toronto cyclists.
The screening of the Tim Burton classic will be supported by a live cast of locals (à la Rocky Horror Picture Show) including Sook-Yin Lee, Lex Vaughn and Gentelman Reg. Other participants will include members of The Hidden Cameras, Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle and Kids on TV.
A second show has been added, so there's a 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. screening. Admission is $14 for an evening of fun and entertainment. The audience is encouraged to join in, so brush up on your movie quotes and come out to support cycling in Toronto.

But then what do I know, I'm a just a pest. ;)
Peace,
Dateline NBC <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4653913/" target="_blank">reported in an exclusive interview</a>:
"One thing I want to make very, very clear, I don't want anyone for one second to think that I am titillated by images of children. It's not me. You can say lots of things about me. And you might. The public may think I'm weird. They may think I'm crazy or anything that anyone wants to think about me. That's all fine. As long as one of the things you're not thinking about me is that I'm a pedophile. Because that's not true."
Then again, the fundraiser isn't about Paul Reubens, it's about bicycles, which play a large role in the movie that happens to star Pee-Wee Herman.
