Billboard Hi-jacking: Bush asks...

Posted by Tanja / August 7, 2006

aug0606-kanye.jpgblogTO reader, Sanj, brought this billboard hi-jacking to our attention. If this string of hilarious literacy billboards featuring George W didn't spark enough controversy, the one outside Dundas West Station just got an extreme makeover.

Update: More info at Fauxreel including before and after shots.

I didn't even notice that today, and I was at Dundas West station four times. Arg...awesome hijacking!

I'm always amazed at how these hijacks are pulled off. I mean, wouldn't one need some serious scaffolding or climbing gear and lots of time to do a job like that? Awesome!

Is this for real? I can't fathom how someone could pull that off without drawing at least 'some' attention, especially in downtown Toronto.

(The "i'm lovin' it" is a nice touch.)

The last time I saw a job like this was along Spadina where hijackers had taken to the Stella Artois billboard and made it into an anti-Shell/gas station spot. They did a GREAT job with that one.

Same guy - it's fauxreel, one of Torontoist's contributors and a spectacular billboard hacker (I didn't even know he did the Kanye billboard when I first saw this post).
