If you like gargoyles and similar carvings, there's a new book that explores the history and art of these sculptures. It's called Faces on Places: A Grotesque Tour of Toronto, written by Terry Murray and published by House of Anansi ($24.95) Includes numerous photographs, fascinating analysis, and suggested walking tours.
