The Plague of Summer Colds and Flus

Is it just me or is everyone getting sick because of the sudden heatwave in the city?

I went to about five different Shoppers and all their Cold-FX supplies were out. Not sure if people are just stocking up or they didn't replenish their products, but I suspect it's because of this blasted summer cold syndrome. Sneezing, aches, hacking coughs all seem worse when it's 30 degrees outside and everyone is enjoying ice cream.

Bah. Humbug.

Though "summer cold" might seem like an oxymoron, I think you've got it right. I was at Shopper's yesterday picking up some meds, and at least three people in line in front of me had some kind of cough syrup in their hands.

I blame air conditioning! Ever notice how many people get sick the first hotspell of Spring? I don't think it's coincidental that that is also the first time the air conditioning (which has sat still all winter) comes back on in many people's homes and workplaces.
