Sweets Expo in T.O. this Weekend!

Posted by Tanja / May 12, 2006

may1206_sweetexpo.jpgThe city's first Sweets Expo is on this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building, Hall C). Yes, it's an expo of nothing but sugary eats... seminars, industry chats, celebrity chefs, books, recipes, body art, and of course SAMPLES, SAMPLES, SAMPLES... (ah hem).

A schedule of events (the aforementioned and much more) is available on the Sweets Expo website.

Hours are 10am-8pm on Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids. You can save a buck by buying advance tix online.

Will there be gummi artisans who work exclusively in the medium of gummi?

I went on May 13 around 5pm with my GF, and gees was it was a total waste of time and money. $14 for parking, $12 x2 for tickets...but all they have inside is 15-20 booths...and ONLY 5-8 of those booths had anything to do with sweets. Other this was stuff like curry, fring pans, shampoo...etc.
Was very very diappointed at the show. A highschool bake sale would had been more interesting. I don't think we'd go back again for a good few years to come.
