Radar (Thrown Own By Wifi Signals)

Posted by Tanja / March 7, 2006

march0706_wifiradar.jpgWoke up this morning with grand intentions of posting a Radar column chock full in interesting city news and events. Then I opened my RSS reader and it was overflowing with links to the one story that has overtaken the city feeds: Toronto becoming a WIFI hot spot.

Tim, in the post previous to this, has already touched base with Wireless Toronto on the topic, so that might be the best place to start before guzzling up what everyone else is writing today.

There IS another story worth notable mention though -- and I'm sure there is some mashing of teeth going on in the office of whoever chose to release that news today under the WIFI news cloud: According to the Star, the trek to York U is about to get less dreadful for hundreds of commuters as the announcement of a Spadina-York-U subway extension is likely to happen this month.

This subway extension is to end right across the street from slum properties owned by Liberal MPP <a href="http://www.ontariotenants.ca/articles/1990/ts-90d04.phtml";>Greg Sorbara</a>!

Watch the Sorbara family properties in the area skyrocket in value with the subway extension.
