Morning Television Makes Me Sleepy

Why is morning television so crappy in the T-dot?

I usually leave the TV on in the morning, changing between CBC, CTV and CP24. Lately I've been leaving it on Breakfast Television, only because it has that split screen thingie that tells me the news flashes, weather and the current time (I'm always late for work).

To say the hosts on these morning shows are vapid would be an understatement. But I guess that's the nature of the beast. I guess the reasoning is that your average joe wants to experience emptyheaded fluff before embarking on a hard day's work. But there's so much "sound and fury, signifying nothing" that Macbeth would be proud.
