Prana Cafe TorontoPrana is a small cafe and roaster in the Beaches that draws a steady local crowd. Don't expect anything hip or trendy here though. While food and drinks might be fresh and service friendly, the product here isn't artisanal.

Artisanal? Cut the mumbo-jumbo. Prana roasts some of the best coffee I have ever tasted and I have tasted A LOT of coffee. Naysayer, go climb a tree.

I have to agree with the commenter above. I dream about Prana's latte... it's so perfect it makes me want to cry.

And I find it funny that "not hip or trendy" is supposed to be a warning here. A while back I moved from the Beach to the Annex... this is supposed to be a great place for cafes, right? Yeah, right. "Hip and trendy" do not a good cafe make. I've tried really hard to embrace what the Annex has to offer but it turns out that none of these places are worth a damn in comparison to what I had in Prana (even in the rare event that their coffee is close to as good, there'll be other drawbacks, like an uncomfortable space or unbelievably rude servers -- to name a few). So even though I've moved away from the Beach I still find myself making the long trek down to Prana to buy their beans. It's worth the TTC fare.

The staff at Prana is incredibly friendly, their coffee and sandwiches are delicious, the hours are great, and it's a wonderful and comfortable place to spend lots of time. I can't recommend it enough.
