Red Nails II in the Bloor West Village is a large comic book and sports card retailer. The ample space provides good browsing for new and old titles. A second location can be found in the Sheridan Mall at Jane St. and Wilson Ave.

This seller trys to scam you when you buy singles so beware of the price, keep your eyes on the register. Also he will yell at you if you are short one cent, seriously beware! on the other hand he usually has nothing in stock so dont bother going.

I don't know if the Anonymous comments are real or just a joke but I find the guy that works there to be most helpful and he's not critical over pennies, either. The price comes up on the register so if he tries to scam you it's your own fault for not being able to count. Marvel Zombies 3!!

I don't know what half you guys are talking about. I've gone there almost every week for 15 years.
The owners are some the of the nicest guys I know.
The only time I've ever heard of customers having an issue was when they were being disrespectful to the worker to start with. Hell I've told other customers off when the employees have been putting up with crap
plus If these guys don't have what you want, they'll order it for you.

Check them out

Excellent store! Staff is very helpful. Went in the back to get a back issue I had been looking for and dug it out of a box for me!

Also got a graphic novel for me in 2 weeks and didn't even ask for a deposit!

Would shop there again!

I've been to the Sheridan Mall store every week since 1989. Ed, Dan and Sam are great guys. They work the business because it's their business.

Once you go often enough, like once or twice a month, they take a liking to you, like any other comic shop. They get comics from Diamond, no problem. They dig out issues, even one single issue, from their long boxes like it means the world to you.

Get the membership. Get to know them. Get used to the idea that it's their business.

The most worst store i ever shopped in. Everything is overpriced and the kid who works at the Sharidan Mall, Jane and Wilson is a punk. He's a kid who has no manners and raises his voice to customers and if that was my employee he would be fired a long time ago. I think he's name is Joseph. Owners i dont have much to say about besides the fact that their a little off the wall but the kid is a jack ass. I dont shop at this store anymore, mostly because of the Joseph so dont even both with this store unless you want to get yelled at !!!!!!!

I cant believe that red nails is ranked # 7 if SILVER SNAIL is ranked number 1 in Toronto for comic book stores, believe me the ranking for red snails oh sorry i mean red nails should be #100. The worst thing thats going on over there is the scamming on single cards. The other day Joseph tried to short change me $5.25 and if i didnt pay attention i would have been ripped off and he would have put that money in his pocket or the stores pocket. Beware .

Anyone thats ready to laugh get ready to laugh right now. Red nails store has a silver colored Sidney Crosby the cup silver auto patch card that supposedly is a gem mint 9.5 graded card and heres the most funniest thing i have ever seen. They want 25,000 dollars for it on ebay. Now thats hilarious !!!
This card even at 9.5 is worth no more then $4000 dollars at the most. By the way please stay away from a seller on ebay that's name goes by sportsmeatball because they rip people off in their stores so believe me their ripping people off on ebay as well and that would be red nails comic book store at Jane and Bloor and the other store at Jane and Wilson mall. Can you believe that their actually trying to sell this card that's worth no more than $3000-$4000 and selling it for $25,000 on ebay ha, ha, ha, ha, thats the most funniest thing i have ever seen. The second most funniest thing about red nails comic book store is if you look at their business card you will see the words "friendly customer service is our specialty" , now if that's not the most biggest bull shit i have ever heard in my life. This store will one day be out of business because it is the total opposite of what it say's on their business card. Remember everyone who reads this to stay away from red nails two stores and sportsmeatball on ebay because they are crooks. They have tried to short change me, and also tried to over charge me on single cards and i caught on and told them to F_ _ K OFF and thats what they deserve. What they deserve even more is that their business should be shut down for good and i cant wait until that day comes because i will be watching and waiting for it and when it happens which it is, i will go up to both owners Danny for one and the other idiot and laugh in their faces for as long as i can. To all the other idiot's here that say the store is great they forgot to take their medication in the morning and they are in schizaphinia mode and cant realize reality . I hope a million people read this message from ebay and internet surfers. Stay away from sportsmeatball name on ebay, please do not buy anything from them.

Yo! Just because one bad apple was thrown in the bushel doesn't mean the entire bunch is bad. I've had expeience with Eddy, Danny and Sam and all three are topnotch guys. They go out of their way to procure ev'rything and anything that I need. Have never met the other guy, though. More power to Red Nails!

Who's Joseph? In all the years I've been to both shops, there hasn't been anyone called by that name.

sportsmeatball is a customer at the store. Go pick on him when you find him.

Red Nails is my comic refuge and the guy there make me feel welcome. Hell, I made the list of party attendees.

CCucchi or who ever the F__k you are why dont you mind your own business because i made a mistake i meant Sam the puck kid. You and the other idiots that buy from red snails are just a bunch of kids who still read comic books because you never had any chicks in your life so all you have is comic books to look at, lol. Your name should be guppy not gucci i can tell by the way you talk that your still reading comic books punk. I cant believe that red snails are still in business. One day this shit hole will finally crumble and the punk kid sam will be under the ruble when it collaps. That kid Sam needs to be taught a lesson on manners when he's talking to adults because if that was my kid he would be in huge trouble but then again i could never have a kid that ugly and FAT with a big mouth like his. Its ok one day some other kid his age is going to shut him up and that will be the end of Sam's big mouth. I wouldnt spend one penny in that store so ever reads this message please do not walk into that store in the sheridan mall because that punk Sam is their and he does not know how to run a store. edy and dan should fire his ass.

To begin, for individuals who walk in with a dollar asking for a deal on thirty dollar items, shed a tear somewhere else.
For a store to be successful in the comic industry for twenty years, especially at Jane & Bloor and the Sheridan Mall, shows the strength of their customers loyalty and commitment that allows the business to continue.
It is unfair for the store to take credit for one customers E-Bay account prices let alone for an employee to be upset at customers who have no respect for store property regardless of their intent to purchase.
The store treats all customers with more respect than they ever receive.
Books are out by opening every week.
Cards are available of all varieties and if not the store is willing to order at the lowest possible price.
Orders on any product are made and received in a timely fashion and the store will inform you if it is unavailable.
Every store will have it's complaints by some but until you visited the store your self, reserve judgment.

I've never had a problem with Ed, Dan or Sam. They have a good selection of most items. I am not one for cards, but there are a core group that will school you on them if you ask.

Twenty years in business says something for the service. If they were as bad as some people think, they would have closed shops years ago. But they didn't.

Also, just because it's a blog doesn't mean grammar goes out the window. I'd write more about this but I am unsure some of you would understand.

I've had decent experiences over the years at both Red Nails stores with Yu-Gi-Oh cards, nothing too bad to say. I prefer shopping at Excalibur Comics though. Also like the selection of New Era fitteds at the Sheridan Mall store. I don't know his name, but I assume he's one of the owners 'cause I see him at both stores regularly. He was pretty friendly when I came to buy a new Era hat.

This is for Tony or the peice of shit who calls himself Tony, I've known Eddie & Danny, for some 20 years, and all I know is they will go out of thier way to accommodate any customer who asks them to, they are respectfull to people who treat them with respect, and once you know thew a little thier hell of nice people. As for Samm I am, I've known him since he stated at RN, and the guy does not have a mean bone in his body, he is funny and all around nice guy. Now I suppose if wlak into one of thier stores with an attitude and treat people like the shit that you seem to be, hey asshole Expect the same back, as these are stand up people but just like anyone they don't deserve to be yelled at or commanded to, if there is more than one person in the store wait your turn.
They have a great selection of books, cards, shirts and what ever else your looking for, if they don't, they will get it for you, so I encourage everyone and his/her family to go to RED NAIS I & II, so Tony I have 2 words for SUCK IT.

Well, I've been a regular Red Nails customer-Jane & Bloor location-for about 4 months now. I have dealt with all of them, including the 2 Sam's, and there are 2 of them. They keep a great inventory, up-to-date titles, and they keep lists for many clients, myself included. Now all of the complaints I'm hearing about Customer Service and Pricing; I've never had a problem ever. In fact, Eddy and Sammy both will cut the prices down for me on more than one occasion. So to all who read this, just know that these guys will help you with your selections, talk to you about Cross-overs and the other comics that you may not know about, that coincide with the storyline your reading about and will order you stuff when you need it and always give you U.S cover price, or less. YOU guys Rock, keep up the good work gentlemen!

Oh and as a personal side note - The Sam that work's on Thursdays and Saturdays at the Jane/Bloor location is awsome, he knows his stuff and is a good guy who has never ripped me off.

To all having bad comments about Red Nails have never had a good experience in life. I have been going to Red Nails for over 10 years and have never had a problem. Ed, Dan and Sam are good knowledgeable people in different aspects of the hobby business. Never been ripped off and short changed. As far as Sportsmeatball is concerned, this is his store and he can price any card he wants. By the way, that $25,000 Crosby card sold for $12,000. Feel better Tony? Who's laughing now. Do everyone a favour and keep you pathetic comments to yourself. If you can't afford anything, don't bother going in. I have children who enjoy talking with Ed, Dan or Sam. Ever see a child's face light up when they receive Pokemon cards packs without paying for it. I have on many occasions and plan on going this evening to get my fix on sportscards and my children can have their Pokemon cards.

I went there recently after reading all the negative comments. I was expecting the worst but honestly ive been to comic stores waaaay worse in the GTA than this place. Im a comic noob but yes even i could admit that i can find the same comics for cheaper in the GTA. But at least the place is organized and not cramped. The guy who was working put up with a bunch of my noob questions and even took the time to run around the store when i asked for specific titles.

i just want to say that although this isnt my comic store of preference its definitely not as bad as a lot of these comments lead you to believe...in my experience.

After being to other stores in the gta and not being able to find what I want,I went in with a list in hand looking for some G/n's. The gentleman working there found 5 of the 6 I wanted and recommended 2 more that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's hard to find a place in the city that has that kind of stock and service. I guess you cant just go by reviews and you have to check out the stores for yourself.

I've got no clue what some of these comments are talking about. I only found out about this store through this website and was honestly expecting the worst when I first went to check it out a few weeks ago.

I've since been grabbing comics from the Bloor location and already both dudes that I've dealt with have been great. I don't really chat them up much, but they already remember me and have already transferred a few books from the other location for me, as well as ordered a few things sans deposit. Then again, I try to be nice and friendly to people, not anti-social and assholian as I can only assume some of the folks who had issues with the staff above must be.

As for being overpriced, I can't comment on anything outside of comics, but they're really not that bad. Yes, some back issues will be stickered $0.50-$1.00 more than cover price. I don't think it's a big deal really, since it's just nice to be able to find said back issues and not have to look to places like eBay where you're gonna pay $5 in shipping anyways.

Between this store and the Beguiling my needs are definitely covered.

The guys there are total assholes, they dont make you feel welcome. they over charge everything, honestly the guys who work there show negative attitude. I saw a group of teenagers about 13 years old walk in there while I was browsing through the comics, and the guy just gave them VERY VERY negative attitude that I have never seen, in all my life of going to stores, working in buisnesses, to see that kind of behaviour, it just threw me off. My vote: Good guys

I've had nothing but positive dealings with this store and the guys that run it and I'm there twice a month (delivery day!) at least. They order me in whatever I need and I'm not about to complain about the prices considering there is a plethora of alternative places to source from (internets?). So do your homework kids, or "adults" (as some of you have so vehemently overstated).

In all honesty Red Nails II is mediocre at best.
I've been going to the Jane/Bloor location for the odd thing for the past ten years now.
The selection is OK, nothing special, the prices are average or slightly higher.
The staff aren't exactly welcoming, I can't recall a single "Hello" or even a nod when entering.
I've been short-changed on at least one occasion.
On top of it all I've noticed they like to talk down to the kids who come in for magic cards.

Not a great place, but not the hell hole some are going on about.

I've been going to Red Nails at Jane and Wilson since I was 8 years old and I have NEVER had anything remotely resembling a negative experience at the store. EVER. Ed, Sam and Dan have gone above an beyond for me countless times throughout the years to get me what I've wanted. Aside from being friendly, stand up guys, their service is outstanding.

For those ignorant idiots who feel it is necessary to attack these men personally as well as professionally, I will share this with you.

When I was 12, a graphic novel came out that I really wanted. I had been saving up for it for months and I was pestering Eddie for weeks about it. When the book finally came out, I went in to the shop and Eddie told me it was postoned a couple weeks. I went in a couple weeks later and he said it was sold out but he'd try to order me a copy. More time went by, and he told me the book was sold out everywhere. Little did I know he had put a copy aside for me the day it came out and sold it to my parents behind my back. Eddie stalled, lied and did all that for over month just so I would be surprised when my parents gave me the book on Christmas morning.

That was about 15 years ago. What other shop owner would do that? Is that not service? Does that not attest to the type of person he is?

Also, I've worked in the very same mall the store is located in and some of the people that shop there are EXTREMELY disrespectful. How would you react to someone coming to your shop, home etc. demanding (not asking) to see something and giving you lip for not having it? What if that same person came in and started making a mess and throwing stuff around? If you want to be treated with respect, you have to treat people with the same respect. That's how I was raised. Ed, Dan and Sam have to manage their shop and that means keeping order when necessary. If that means being stern with some customers so be it.

A lot can be said for 20 years of business. In fact, that mall is a revolving door for shops and businesses and Red Nails has been the only store that hasn't gone under.

Just in case I'm wrong about the employee's name, I would describe him as medium height, chubby, glasses, always wearing blue jays jerseys, black hair, black eyes, seems to be either italian, greek or lebanese.

Easily my favourite comic book shop in TO. Yeah, it might not be as "cool" or trendy as other comic book shops in the city, but the owners/employees are amazing and go above and beyond for their customers — regulars or no. I only go in once every couple months to pick up everything on my pull list, but they ALWAYS remember me and speak with me as if I go in on weekly basis. They actually talk with me about the titles I'm reading and give awesome and appropriate recommendations for other series — unlike other comic book shops in the city that constantly just push whatever is most popular. I always recommend Red Nails II to my friends, and would certainly continue to have my pull list with them even if I moved away from the area. Sam is my favourite!
