I don't know if the Anonymous comments are real or just a joke but I find the guy that works there to be most helpful and he's not critical over pennies, either. The price comes up on the register so if he tries to scam you it's your own fault for not being able to count. Marvel Zombies 3!!
The owners are some the of the nicest guys I know.
The only time I've ever heard of customers having an issue was when they were being disrespectful to the worker to start with. Hell I've told other customers off when the employees have been putting up with crap
plus If these guys don't have what you want, they'll order it for you.
Check them out
Also got a graphic novel for me in 2 weeks and didn't even ask for a deposit!
Would shop there again!
Once you go often enough, like once or twice a month, they take a liking to you, like any other comic shop. They get comics from Diamond, no problem. They dig out issues, even one single issue, from their long boxes like it means the world to you.
Get the membership. Get to know them. Get used to the idea that it's their business.
This card even at 9.5 is worth no more then $4000 dollars at the most. By the way please stay away from a seller on ebay that's name goes by sportsmeatball because they rip people off in their stores so believe me their ripping people off on ebay as well and that would be red nails comic book store at Jane and Bloor and the other store at Jane and Wilson mall. Can you believe that their actually trying to sell this card that's worth no more than $3000-$4000 and selling it for $25,000 on ebay ha, ha, ha, ha, thats the most funniest thing i have ever seen. The second most funniest thing about red nails comic book store is if you look at their business card you will see the words "friendly customer service is our specialty" , now if that's not the most biggest bull shit i have ever heard in my life. This store will one day be out of business because it is the total opposite of what it say's on their business card. Remember everyone who reads this to stay away from red nails two stores and sportsmeatball on ebay because they are crooks. They have tried to short change me, and also tried to over charge me on single cards and i caught on and told them to F_ _ K OFF and thats what they deserve. What they deserve even more is that their business should be shut down for good and i cant wait until that day comes because i will be watching and waiting for it and when it happens which it is, i will go up to both owners Danny for one and the other idiot and laugh in their faces for as long as i can. To all the other idiot's here that say the store is great they forgot to take their medication in the morning and they are in schizaphinia mode and cant realize reality . I hope a million people read this message from ebay and internet surfers. Stay away from sportsmeatball name on ebay, please do not buy anything from them.
sportsmeatball is a customer at the store. Go pick on him when you find him.
Red Nails is my comic refuge and the guy there make me feel welcome. Hell, I made the list of party attendees.
For a store to be successful in the comic industry for twenty years, especially at Jane & Bloor and the Sheridan Mall, shows the strength of their customers loyalty and commitment that allows the business to continue.
It is unfair for the store to take credit for one customers E-Bay account prices let alone for an employee to be upset at customers who have no respect for store property regardless of their intent to purchase.
The store treats all customers with more respect than they ever receive.
Books are out by opening every week.
Cards are available of all varieties and if not the store is willing to order at the lowest possible price.
Orders on any product are made and received in a timely fashion and the store will inform you if it is unavailable.
Every store will have it's complaints by some but until you visited the store your self, reserve judgment.
Excellent service too! Got American cover price on the graphic novel. Would shop there again!

Twenty years in business says something for the service. If they were as bad as some people think, they would have closed shops years ago. But they didn't.
Also, just because it's a blog doesn't mean grammar goes out the window. I'd write more about this but I am unsure some of you would understand.
Great Service!
Thanks!
They have a great selection of books, cards, shirts and what ever else your looking for, if they don't, they will get it for you, so I encourage everyone and his/her family to go to RED NAIS I & II, so Tony I have 2 words for SUCK IT.
although their sports cards are a little overpriced
the guy that greeted me on friday afternoon was an amazing guy
he gave me a good deal
but i still suggest that they lower their prices a tad
anyways
its a good store
Oh and as a personal side note - The Sam that work's on Thursdays and Saturdays at the Jane/Bloor location is awsome, he knows his stuff and is a good guy who has never ripped me off.

i just want to say that although this isnt my comic store of preference its definitely not as bad as a lot of these comments lead you to believe...in my experience.
and this is actually a really good store. the prices are reasonable and if you play mtg, the one guy working there will actually recommend a lot of cards to improve it even if they dont have any of the card in stock. i would give this shop a 9/10
Pretty Cure(ANIME)
Sailor Moon(ANIME)
Sonic the Hedgehog(ANIME/COMIC)
Shugo Chara!(ANIME/MANGA)

Cadcaptor Sakura(ANIME/MANGA)
Let me know, thanks.
I'll have you know that I'm a 35 year old married male who's wife is into comics as well.
Get off your high horse and stop making assumptions.
thank u
mike
I've since been grabbing comics from the Bloor location and already both dudes that I've dealt with have been great. I don't really chat them up much, but they already remember me and have already transferred a few books from the other location for me, as well as ordered a few things sans deposit. Then again, I try to be nice and friendly to people, not anti-social and assholian as I can only assume some of the folks who had issues with the staff above must be.
As for being overpriced, I can't comment on anything outside of comics, but they're really not that bad. Yes, some back issues will be stickered $0.50-$1.00 more than cover price. I don't think it's a big deal really, since it's just nice to be able to find said back issues and not have to look to places like eBay where you're gonna pay $5 in shipping anyways.
Between this store and the Beguiling my needs are definitely covered.
I've had nothing but positive dealings with this store and the guys that run it and I'm there twice a month (delivery day!) at least. They order me in whatever I need and I'm not about to complain about the prices considering there is a plethora of alternative places to source from (internets?). So do your homework kids, or "adults" (as some of you have so vehemently overstated).
I've been going to the Jane/Bloor location for the odd thing for the past ten years now.
The selection is OK, nothing special, the prices are average or slightly higher.
The staff aren't exactly welcoming, I can't recall a single "Hello" or even a nod when entering.
I've been short-changed on at least one occasion.
On top of it all I've noticed they like to talk down to the kids who come in for magic cards.
Not a great place, but not the hell hole some are going on about.
For those ignorant idiots who feel it is necessary to attack these men personally as well as professionally, I will share this with you.
When I was 12, a graphic novel came out that I really wanted. I had been saving up for it for months and I was pestering Eddie for weeks about it. When the book finally came out, I went in to the shop and Eddie told me it was postoned a couple weeks. I went in a couple weeks later and he said it was sold out but he'd try to order me a copy. More time went by, and he told me the book was sold out everywhere. Little did I know he had put a copy aside for me the day it came out and sold it to my parents behind my back. Eddie stalled, lied and did all that for over month just so I would be surprised when my parents gave me the book on Christmas morning.
That was about 15 years ago. What other shop owner would do that? Is that not service? Does that not attest to the type of person he is?
Also, I've worked in the very same mall the store is located in and some of the people that shop there are EXTREMELY disrespectful. How would you react to someone coming to your shop, home etc. demanding (not asking) to see something and giving you lip for not having it? What if that same person came in and started making a mess and throwing stuff around? If you want to be treated with respect, you have to treat people with the same respect. That's how I was raised. Ed, Dan and Sam have to manage their shop and that means keeping order when necessary. If that means being stern with some customers so be it.
A lot can be said for 20 years of business. In fact, that mall is a revolving door for shops and businesses and Red Nails has been the only store that hasn't gone under.
