Venezia BakeryVenezia Bakery at the corner of Ossington and Argyle specializes in Portuguese bread and baked treats. It's also a good spot to stop for a morning espresso.

I didn't love this place the1st time I went...it seemed just average. But after my visit, I kept thinking about the donuts, and I had to go back. I have to admit that these donuts are pretty damn good!!

If you're there, make sure that you try the deep fried french toast. It's dusted with cinnamon and sugar, and it's served as a pastry, not as breakfast. It's a little greasy...but it's out of this world!!!

Not sure about their custard tarts, though. I normally buy them at Nova Era but I recently ended up buying some at Venezia. And I found the pastry to be quite soggy and chewy rather than the crispy I'm used to from Nova Era.

Went to Venezia for donuts based on the Blog TO top ten list and was sorely disappointed! My donut was stiff and dry and the selection wasn't very good at all. It was Saturday morning so perhaps they were selling Friday day-olds as fresh? Got an éclair that was also dry and kind of mediocre. The Italian and Portuguese bakery items looked like they might be good, but the donuts were bunk.

Are there any actual donut shops in the Ossington/Dufferin area?
