Half Baked IdeasHalf Baked Ideas is all about unusual, sculpted birthday cakes. From telephone booths to guitars, to vintage cars, the bakery can create just about anything. Owner Glenn Peaslee says the dense and fudgey chocolate cake is the most popular option and stands behind his buttercream which is 100% pure - all thrilla, no filla. Cakes are made using all natural ingredients on site, and the entire bakery is nut free. One of the unique options here is the "pull-apart" cakes - strategically placed cupcakes that are frosted with a solid icing layer that is then decorated to match any theme. No knives are needed - just grab a cupcake and pull. Sculpted cakes start at $75. Custom cakes are $5 per person and up.

Oh I love this place! I just discovered it in my neighbourhood about two months ago. Their cakes look fantastic! I haven't bought any of their custom cakes personally but i have bought a few of their little personal sized theme cakes. They had little easter egg shaped cakes for example. Great for 1 or 2 people to share and they are delicious. I am also a big fan of their cookies.
So good.

I really liked how creative and imaginative they were. And they have the baking chops to pull it off. I commissioned a custom cake that was a blue ribbon show-stopper. no one (including myself) had ever seen anything like it. and it was yummy to boot.

We had one of their cakes at work for a birthday. The cake was kept for almost a week in the fridge and still tastes great.

I have sampled a few of the goodies from Half Baked Ideas. I love the creativity and originality that go into the cakes; they really are willing to try and create anything I can imagine. Being a teacher, I really like how their products are nut free as then I can take the treats with me to school and not be concerned about allergies. My personal favourite treat are the brownies!

Need a 3 TIER wedding cake (black fruit cake) any idea how much it costs for a 6" & 9" & 12" covered with marzipan and fondant ?? decorated with red roses on top. Need pricing??

Heard today that they're closing down on December 2nd. Sad, I had my 16th birthday cake from there! :(

I just called and yes they are closed permanently. I am so shocked and sad. I love Glenn and his staff. They have done all of my son's birthday cakes and not only were they delicious but the creativity and artistry in the work is unparalleled. I just can’t believe it!
