After (finally) making their way over the border and into the U.S. for tour dates in New York, Detroit, and Chicago, Vancouver's You Say Party! We Say Die! returned to Toronto on Friday night to host a raucous dance party at the Horseshoe.

A very excited crowd made it's way to the El Mocambo on Saturday night to see Said The Whale, In-Flight Safety, Graham Wright and We Are The Take. It was a chilly Spring evening, but that didn't stop anyone from getting their dance on.

The Weakerthans managed to pack the basement of Sonic Boom Records for a supper-hour in-store performance Wednesday night. I was just as excited to see them as everyone else in the sweaty basement.

With Canadian Music Fest hitting the home stretch, here's a look at some performances from Thursday and Friday night. I headed to the Horseshoe Tavern on Thursday to check out Magneta Lane and Amos The Transparent, and made my way to Lee's Palace on Friday to see some early sets by Winter Gloves and The Russian Futurists.

My Canadian Music Fest kicked off with The Bonfire Ball at Lee's Palace. And who better to sit around the bonfire with than Bahamas, Zeus, and Jason Collett?

The first and only Toronto stop on The Bonfire Ball Tour was an amazing night, with all three acts helping play each others songs.

Dinosaur Bones celebrated the release of their brand new 7-inch as headliners of the 13th edition of the UNSIGNED Music Series at the Steam Whistle Brewery on Friday night. They were joined on the beer-stained stage by the dance-pop ensemble Everything All The Time and post-rockers Make Your Exit.

Immediately after Make Your Exit played their first few chords I knew I was going to like them, and if the call-outs and singing along from the crowd is any indication, there are already a lot of people who love them.
