No Yuppies in LeslievilleDid Studio We just become the first victim of Anti-Yuppy sentiment in Leslieville? Over the weekend, the clothing boutique not far from the now infamous Duke of York had one of its windows smashed. Area businesses fear that it could be related to the recent No yuppies in Leslieville postering campaign.

Where's WaldoThe Eaton Centre was the backdrop today for a massive game of Where's Waldo. Organized by Improv in Toronto, the hunt for the guy in the red and white striped shirt started at 2pm this afternoon and drew more than 900 participants - short of the 2,000+ that signed up on Facebook but still an impressive number.

Sushi Train Does the Deadpool

Sushi Train TorontoThe Sushi Train, a raw fish joint on Yonge St. south of Bloor that featured conveyor belt sushi, has entered the Deadpool. As Loozrboy (who tipped us off in the blogTO Flickr pool) put it:

I only got around to eating here once before it went belly up, which is a pity because it was kind of fun. It was also way too expensive.

SeagullThe National Ballet of Canada have rolled out a fun guerrilla marketing campaign that would make Dave Winfield proud. Peppering the pavement near Dundas Square are a flock of seagulls, chalked with realistic shadows and everything. It's all in good fun though (no seagulls were harmed in the making of this ad) with the express purpose of convincing avid mall shoppers to skip the next outing to Hollister in favour of a new show at The Four Seasons Centre called, you guessed it, The Seagull.

AGO Frank GehryThe new AGO is just days away from its official opening and already critics are lining up to sing its praises. In an article in today's Globe and Mail, Lisa Richon has this to say about Frank Gehry's new design:

This is not a stylistic flash in the pan by another architect in designer glasses. Thankfully, for Toronto and the rest of Canada, Gehry's transformation of the AGO is inspired not by personal ego but by allowing for a journey that goes deep into art and the city.

Hmmm...who might this other artist in designer glasses be that she is referring to? Oh, right, that would be Daniel Libeskind of the much vilified Michael Lee-Chin Crystal.

Sustainability Camp Next Sunday

Sustainability CampIn what must be another sign that Toronto just can't get enough of the unconference movement, next Sunday sees the debut of Sustainability Camp. SUSCAMP to the ADD generation among us, the unconference bills itself as one that will enable deep and meaningful discussions as well as the collaborative sharing of practical ideas about sustainable community building in a creative economy.

The schedule isn't yet set but there will be pulled chicken or an apple and cheese tart for lunch, so that puts all attendees ahead in game right there. Oh, and Tom Williams from GiveMeaning.com will be giving the opening keynote.
