A Tale of Two Breakfasts

BreakfastsOne's a brunch hot spot at the northern tip of Roncy while the other's a bakery cafe on Eglinton West near Avenue Road. Two different neighbourhoods. Two different meals and two different reviewers.

Check out Allison Buchan-Terrell's take on brunch at B and Lisa Pasold's Friday morning retreat to Phipps Bakery Cafe.

First Look: Messa Bites

Messa BitesJust when I wonder about the state of Dundas West, along comes Messa Bites. Gone is the vacant corner spot that was formerly Model Citizen and in its place is a cafe that crafts some of the most decorative cookies in Toronto.

Breakfast at Sneaky Dee's

Sneaky Dee's BreakfastFor many of us, Sneaky Dee's is a place more associated with over-sized Tex-Mex, live music and beer. But what about breakfast? Lisa Pasold delves into the french toast, hash browns, bacon and eggs and has the photos and review to prove it.

Check out her review of breakfast at Sneaky Dee's.

First Look: Wild Thing

Wild ThingIf the pace of new cafe openings in Toronto is any indication, we live in one caffeine-crazed culture. And I'm not even counting the growing footprint of Starbucks and their ilk. One of the latest indie spots to enter the fray is Wild Thing - also known as the cafe with the retro Pepsi sign at the corner of Harbord and Borden.

Check out my first look at Wild Thing in the cafes section.

50 CentG Unit and 50 Cent arrived in Toronto on Sunday night for a special, intimate performance at CiRCA. I arrived just after 11 to find them already on stage. The ground floor was packed, the second floor busy and the third roped off for a few dozen media and VIPs.
