Protesting Bell - Now With More Wiretapping!

Posted by Ryan C / January 17, 2008

Yup, she's wearing a Scotiabank winter hat
A note for Yvonne: Yvonne, you are mistaking public comments on this entry for the entry itself. Nowhere did I call you paranoid or delusional. The comments form, that you personally used as well, is open to anyone, and as such anyone can share their opinions. Some people think your story is delusional, others do not. It is their choice and right to publicly agree or disagree with you, should they choose to voice their opinions. --END NOTE--

I ran into Yvonne Montague as she was standing outside Bell's Bay Street offices picketing all by her lonesome. Asking her why she was standing in the cold with three signs, she gave me a long and twisty little story that started when she was wrongly dismissed from a data-entry position at Scotiabank in July of 1991.

It was a story filled with mystery, intrigue, wiretapping conspiracy, and most importantly it was a story about how much Bell sucks the jam in your toes.

Alibis Wanted for Worthless Pieces of Crap

Posted by Ryan C / January 15, 2008

Abraham Simpson was a wise man, indeed.
I've had some difficulty deciding whether or not I wanted to cover Toronto Alibi, a relatively new company in the city. On the one hand, they satisfy a a despicable clientèle with disturbing services.

Their specialty is helping people get away with extramarital affairs without getting caught.

On the other hand, writing about Toronto Alibi gives me the chance to shit all over them. Score.

iPod Tax Gets Pimp Smacked

Posted by Ryan C / January 14, 2008

She's also wanted for questioning in regards to her questionable choice of polka music
If you didn't hear about it, Canadian record labels and their stakeholders were dealt a blow on January 10th. The Canadian Federal Court of Appeal crushed, swept up, and dumped the so-called "iPod Tax" before throwing some used kitty litter on it for good measure.

If you've been too busy managing your torrents and wondering how you've survived since Oink! was knocked down, hit the jump for the skinny.

Your Jerrold-less (I save the best for last) morning news roundup for Friday January 11th, 2008:

Julian Falconer has come to this conclusion: "We suspend [students] in droves; it fails." Well d'uh, the last thing you want to give a bastard who beats people up, sells drugs, and/or assaults women in school is free time while his/her parents are quite possibly not at home so they can beat people up, sell drugs and/or assault women outside of school as well.

A pilot is saying that his plane nearly did a freakin' barrel roll because a computer gave out and he had to fly the plane manually. There goes my future as a pilot, so many wasted hours practicing flicking the auto-pilot switch on Microsoft Flight Simulator, GONE!

Your Jerrold-less morning news roundup for Thursday January 10th, 2008:

Our nation's latest form of discrimination? Not letting gay men's hearts into our organ donation clubs.

The body of Ilia Vaxman was found after he went missing while ice fishing on the weekend. Heavy fog had been a deterrent in the search.

Your Jerrold-less and very windy morning news roundup for Wednesday January 9th, 2008:

Sure, we all want a day off in February, but maybe it'd be more cost effective for the province if everyone just called in sick instead.

Ontario's SIU has determined that Toronto officers did not commit any criminal offenses in the death of Jasen Drnasin in November of 2006. Drnasin died a few hours after his arrest, and had developed severe brain swelling immediately after his confrontation with Toronto police.
