IFOA: An Intimate Talk with Adrienne Clarkson

Goodness me. Adrienne Clarkson. How can someone not be fascinated by this woman? She is an accomplished journalist, awarded the Officer of the Order of Canada, the 26th Governor General of Canada and author.

Last night she took part in the IFOA, at the half-full, intimate Premiere Dance Theatre. Dressed in funky a-line layers and knee-high boots, she came and plopped herself in front of the podium as if there was nowhere else she would rather be. I know there was nowhere else I would have rather been.

She was here to discuss
her new book, Heart Matters. "A tribute to the people she loves. A tribute to human relations as being the most important part in ones life."

Are You Ready for Nuit Blanche?

On Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 7:01 pm, Scotiabank's Nuit Blanche will officially begin, a sunset-to-sunrise journey that will connect art and public spaces.

Ending at 7:15 am on Sunday, this free, all-night contemporary art thing will feature more than 130 projects. Individual exhibitions, 'My Secret City' which is the transformation of public spaces as well as independent projects will be available for you to discover across three major zones.

Two Shels Coming to the T-dot

If you are interested in blogging, for personal or for a corporation, there are two stellar events coming up you should not miss. Funny enough, both events will feature a blogger by the name of Shel.

Shel Holtz, blogger and podcaster will be talking about "How Social Media is Changing Everything You Know" at AIMS' 10th year anniversary celebration. The event is taking place this Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Berkeley Street Theatre.

Shel Israel, co-author of Naked Conversations will be the guest speaker at Third Tuesday on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at The Abbot on the Hill.
