When asking someone about their musical preferences I am often faced with a response akin to, "I like everything; except country music." So often have I heard this refrain that it has become rather troublesome. Every genre has its merits, and to every rule there are exceptions, it is my belief that as far as country music in Toronto is concerned, Live Country Music is one of these exceptions.

Despite their name, Live Country Music is more than just cheesy honky tonk twang and low down charm; think Ryan Adams as opposed to Alan Jackson. They describe their sound as "neo-soul" but also "rooted in traditional country music". Building on this foundation LCM blends folk, blues and rock elements throughout their songs to create sheer entertainment. The music is honest and easy with simple melodies and complex, interwoven harmonies; the perfect backdrop for sharing a few beers with friends.
