I was going through my daily read of various design blogs and my eye kept being drawn to this particular piece of work.

Living in an apartment downtown, I am always looking for something with an organic feel to add to my general decor. There is the hard part of finding a happy medium between two people's different tastes. My husband tends to lean toward clean, simple lines of metal and wood, while I tend to like bright colours, reinvented antique that is slightly shabby and feminine. This lamp is a perfect compromise.

Shoon, best known for bringing in some of the best selection of funky footwear has started carrying clothes. You know me, there is nothing like a new clothing store to get my giddy goat.

I love that owner Carolyn Eby picked each collection with the same discerning taste that she does her shoes and accessories (sister store Trove is the accessory haven).

Not one to follow the pipe piper, you won't find the same old brands in this store. Every line is carefully selected for some interesting detail or another. I love the fact that the clothing lines that she has so far are mostly independent Canadians.

Last November, we reported that the girls from Damzels In This Dress were hanging up their dresses, so to speak, to move on to an exciting new creative venture. This week, they are offering the public one last chance to get their hands on these fabulous frocks.
