It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood, and though that's nothing new, The Riverdale Perk is (to me). With an extensive menu and treats aplenty, it's reason to swing my heart eastward.

Jet Fuel Coffee in Cabbagetown truly is a rock star. From its awesome and elaborate shopfront sign, to the steel and chrome within, to the Bowie playing on the stereo, down to the delicious caffeine jolts they purvey, Jet Fuel does it right.

Coffee Tree in Bloor West Village (at Jane and Bloor) gets to claim the impressive title as the first on-site roastery in Toronto. This old/new (to me) discovery showed me and all the others just how it's done.

Summer's has been providing Yorkville with sweet memories for 25 years. I've had... a little less than that, but I'm willing to make up for lost ice cream time.

It's summertime, and Leslieville and ice cream are both back in my life with a vengeance. Cream the Urban Dairy lives up to its awesome name, and then some.

T.A.N. Coffee, a socially conscious roaster and cafe on West Queen West, has more treats than you can shake a stick at (even for people who won't eat butter). It sheltered, fed and caffeinated me on the (other) day the music died, and for that, I will always be grateful.
