One Love Vegetarian Cafe, a new Annex restaurant, serves Caribbean-influenced vegan soups, roti, and curry that combine traditional and unusual flavours. With nothing over $10, I went ahead and ordered almost the entire menu.

The Stockyards Smokehouse & Larder's low-key appearance belies the amazing slow-cooked meat and fried chicken it serves. A welcome addition to the Toronto barbecue scene, the St. Clair & Christie location is sure to be a popular joint. it took me approximately one bite to decide that I'll be coming back to this place. A lot.

The George Street Diner has a great atmosphere, comfy booths, and makes delicious Irish/Canadian fusion food. And it's sporting a snazzy new crimson red exterior.

Toronto's oldest diner is right downtown, and is open for three meals a day. I happily volunteered myself for one of them. The Senator retains its authenticity without being kitschy, and serves up delicious meatloaf, burgers, crab cakes, and more.
