High Park finally has a cafe to call its own
In an area that has been devoid of a proper cafe for decades, this newcomer to High Park is more than welcome. Cafe Novo doesn't take anything for granted, and works hard to bring its customers a great hangout, good cheer, and wonderful coffee.Read my review of the newly opened Cafe Novo in the cafe section.

New sushi joint opens in the Annex, but is it cheap enough?
The newest sushi joint in the Annex has opened up shop a little south of the competition. Joining the growing list of restaurants on Harbord, Akai Sushi serves both Japanese and Korean fare at the corner of Major. But it's a hair more expensive than the Sushi on Bloor and New Gens of the world to the north. Is the extra cost justified?Read my review of Akai Sushi in the restaurants section.

Korean fusion that brings me back for a second visit
Swish by Han opened last summer just west of the St. Lawrence Market. Featuring a posh interior and a unique take on Korean/American fusion, this is an excellent place to order yuzu tea, kimchee and bibimbap. In fact, I enjoyed the food so much that I returned a week after my initial visit to sample even more menu items.Read my review of Swish by Han in the restaurants section.

Warming up the body and soul with a bowl of pho in the Junction
On a cold and rainy late-winter day, nothing says body- and soul-warming like a hearty, brothy, home-style bowl of delicious Vietnamese pho. Speedy, no-nonsense service, a very casual atmosphere, and affordable food make Pho Huong a staple for Vietnamese eats in the Junction.
