It's true that beer and dancing go hand-in-hand, so with that in mind the marketers behind Bud Light have decided to bring Sensation, an international electronic dance event featuring acrobats and carnival floats, to Toronto this June. To introduce the event (and stoke the flames of anticipation), Andrew Richard Designs hosted a private soiree on Thursday featuring music, white-clad mermaids, and a slew of fashionable, music-minded partygoers.

Watching the Academy Awards in Toronto is sometimes best designated to private parties of one, in your pyjamas, so as not to disturb those who are less passionately invested with your opinions, predictions, and inevitable outrage. There's something to be said, though, for setting your hair in Dietrich pincurls, donning a sleek crimson number, and debating the narrative merits of Beasts of the Southern Wild with die-hard fans of Lincoln (there surely must be one or two of you out there, somewhere). If nothing less than arguing who wore it best, and who muddled their acceptance speech the most will do, there are many venues in Toronto who'll be happy to have you come Sunday, February 24.

Mezcal is becoming something of a buzz word in most bars; made by distilling fermented mash from agave, the quality lies in the purity of its ingredients and the craftsmanship involved in its production. Enter Fortuna Mezcal, makes of artisanal mezcal using 100% pure agave, and who give back $1 from every bottle sold to the community of San Dionisio in Oaxaca, where it's produced. The project is a collaboration between Walter Meyenberg, Michael Martin, and Ignacio Martínez, the maestro Mezcalero of San Dioniso.

Fortuna Mezcal is holding its global launch in Toronto with Fortuna Week (February 25-March 3)--an epic week of Toronto venue-hopping that'll take you from Weslodge Saloon, to Spoke Club, to an appropriate finale at La Carnita. The founders will be on hand to demonstrate the Fortuna ritual--let's just say it involves oranges, chili powder, and roasted agave worms.

This weekend, Frontline Entertainment presents a unique opportunity to see two hip-hop legends united on the Sound Academy stage: DJ Premier and Lord Finesse. DJ Premier belonged to Gang Starr and has gotten the stamp of approval from About.com, who gave him the #1 spot on their list of top 50 hip-hop producers. Lord Finesse, on the other hand, led influential New York rap crew D.I.T.C., which was known for working with and fostering young, undiscovered talents. Safe to say, this is a show you won't want to miss.

This new bakery from a longtime pastry chef is decorated in pink hues, girly accents, and vintage touches. Although the owner has been in the custom cake business for a long time, on offer here are cookies, butter tarts, brownies, and cakes, as well as teas and coffee.
