Photos of Comic Con Toronto 2011
Comic Con Toronto hit up the Direct Energy Centre this weekend, which witnessed comic book fans come out in droves to meet well-known artists, dress up as their favourite character, mingle with a celebrity or two, and of course look through the vast selection of comics on sale.
Aside from the comics and graphic novels, there were also lots of toys and accessories on sale to help enrich your own personal heroic exploits, such as Elf ears and weaponry. A few vehicles were on hand as well, the most notable being the Halo car, which really wouldn't look out of place fighting for a parking spot on Queen Street West.

Several booths promoting various Toronto communities like the Steampunk Society and Epoch showed that the social side of fandom is thriving locally.
Jedi with light sabers rubbed shoulders with imperial stormtroopers; Ghostbusters and robots eyed each other warily; Roller Grrls glided amongst the crowd and everyone's inner geek was well satisfied by the end.

Virgin.
what about the line ups for autographs & pics?
Doesn't look like the Con was busy (based on pics)?
It really wasn't very crowded; there were autograph opportunities with a few ex Buffy stars that had the longest lines but they were only about 15 people deep. Some booths had nobody at all; Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) for one had very little traffic; Jake Lloyd (young Anakin Skywalker-not so young now) was another.
Thank you for sharing photos from an event that I'm sure was interesting. Too bad many events such as this seem to not get much advance publicity.
