Nuit Blanche 2008 - Quixotic (video)

At 5am this morning, and nearing the end of the 2008 Nuit Blanche experience, Dear Toronto captured this visually stunning "phantasmagoric roaming ritual" performance of Quixotic on King St. East in Zone B.

I would have loved to have seen it in person, but I was all walked out and ready to crash after an enjoyable time exploring the many excellent curated works in Liberty Village.

I'm left wondering what other works in Zone B I should have seen, and wishing I had been able to see it all!

The performance was stunning - and a joy to capture. I'm nominating this one for the People's Choice award for sure!

I just love this video and am very sad I didn't make it to see this performance. Simply dazzling!

The amount of work needed to produce work with this level of production quality justifies increasing investment in Nuit Blanche and public art in general.

Don't forget to vote in the Nuit Blanche 2008 People's Choice selection!

Gah... not enough time in one night to see it all.. and I went 10 hours non-stop! Cool video capturing a haunting procession.

Aw man! I am so upset that I missed this!! I was frequenting Zone A and B.

Nuit Blanche 2008 in Toronto, was a hit. Nearly 800,000 people took to the streets. Regretfully, the installations were rather disappointing. Amanta Scott invited visitors into a very warm and private space for 15 Minutes of Fame, featuring Karla Homolka's prison bed!! Into the Blue was an enormous, blue, ?turd'-shaped balloon. Adam and I parted ways at about 3:00am, and I'm pretty sure he ditched me so he could take in things like this on his own or with others after being around me for far too long.

That absolutely stunning.. so dramatic. I'm so sad I missed this. I should've planned better.

Like most of the best stuff I tend to see at Nuit Blanche, I discovered this completely by accident - that made it all the more wonderful!

BTW I couldn't find the artists who put this together when I originally posted, but thankfully they got in touch with me. They're a pair from Montreal that run 2boys.tv, Gigi and Pipi.
