Mine was taken at the Central Ontario Railway, the home of the Model Railroad Club of Toronto. My father, my son and I went on Sunday afternoon to check out their annual show - which continues this Sunday as well... My father has always been a railfan and instilled in me the same interest when I was a child - I love trains both big and small and I hope to give my son the same appreciation. He really enjoyed the outing.

With regard to the technical background of the image I shot it digtially using a Nikon D200 set at iso 800 balanced for flourescent light. 1/100th at f5 - I was using a Tokina 12-24 f/4 lens so it was almost wide open. I was holding it above my head shooting blind but I needed to capture the crowd as well as the cars to tell the story. Compositionally I am pleased with lines in the image and the body language which draws the viewer into the scene. This is one of three or four shots I took of this scene (I always bracket in difficult lighting situations) and this was the best of the four. It was still a bit dark but that's a good thing - you can retrieve more detail from a dark image than a light one, which I did using shadow/highlight adjustments in Adobe's PhotoShop CS2. I also used a mild dose of PictureCode's NoiseNinja to treat some of the high iso noise in the background to render it more painterly. The image is uncropped. That's all I can think of for the moment.

Thanks for including my photo in BlogTO Flickr Forum today! This photograph was taken at the Aussie Biosphere at Yonge & Dundas Square in Toronto during Australia Week 2007. Aboriginal dance performances (as seen in this photo) were part of the Great Aussie Expo among Australian wine tasting and Australian Art Exhibition. The whole event was a very colourful showcase of dance and traditional music played on didgeridoos, promoting Australia's culture and tourism. The whole experience made me want to return again to visit my friends in Sydney! :)

The media and weather people were calling this the "blizzard of the century" - easy to do I guess when the year is 1999. Toronto got so much snow that subways were unable to travel on the outdoor tracks, leaving many stranded downtown. I was able to walk home.

I took this picture on St. Nicholas Street, near Bay and Bloor. These historical row houses have the word "cottages" imprinted in their concrete... I always wondered why, since they aren't near any bodies of water.

Though I've been photographing for many years, I claim no technical expertise on this photo. I was using Kodak 200 film. I was surprised I was out shooting at all... I just wanted to get back inside.

Thanks for the selection in today's forum. Mine was taken on February 16 at Kool Haus during Silverchair concert, which is a part of the G'Day Toronto Australia Week 2007 and to promote their upcoming album Young Modern. It was a fantastic night and I'm glad to share it with you. I'm a very big fan of the band and have actually waited to see their concert for almost a decade. Despite the fact that Australia (where they're from) and Indonesia (where I'm from) are geographically very close, for some reasons there was never any possibilities that I was going to see them performing. That I finally saw them far far away from our homes about nine years later is really quite something. The tickets were sold out in less than 20 minutes, very surprising considering the band was off for a few years and is not as popular in North America as it is in Australia. The audience was wild, in a fun way of course, and people seemed to enjoy themselves (I know I did). <br>

The technical background of the picture can be found in the EXIF data I provided on my Flickr page. They actually didn't allow DSLRs and videorecorders inside but I managed to sneak my Canon 350D in. I took the picture obviously without looking at the viewfinder; I just held up my camera as soon as I saw this guy flying up in the air and everybody around me was jumping. Hence the out-of-focus and the slightly odd composition.

Thank you for featuring "Forest Vertigo" on BlogTo. I took this picture at the David Dunlap Observatory, a University Of Toronto owned property in Richmond Hill. The property is very large, has wooded areas and fields, and is a great place to spend time wandering and exploring. I shot this with the Canon EOS 30D with a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens.
Thank you. Dave MacIntyre (aka Colour Void)

Thanks blogTO for featuring me again. Mine was taken on the way back from wasaga beach.
The weather started out really nice with clear blue sky and then got caught in the storm in mid way of the trip. Luckily on our way back, the clouds are moving away and the sky is clear again.
I don't know the exact location but it was about 30 minutes away from TO.

Being a starving artist, I only have a trusty 50mm prime lens with rebel xt.
To give a sense of big landscape, I usually take a multiple pictures and stitch them.
I stitched 3 images for this one. I used Adobe Lightroom for post processing.
