I know Rannie's shot is a really good one [as usual] but did you include him in the runners-up just for kicks?

I mean, always a bridesmaid - this is turning into a bit of a joke!

Congrats to teh winnar and Rannie: keep tryin'!!!!

Now Hamish, that would be a cruel cruel joke. =)

Rannie's shot is fantastic, so I'm not surprised he got a lot of votes, but I guess autumn wasn't quite his theme either.

Good job to all of you that participated, there are some amazing photos in the pool!

We included the top5 here because they're all great, we had more submissions this time than any before, and if you must know, they all made made it into a second round of voting.

There's certainly no conspiracy and there's certainly no joke or poke intended - just the results. Each contest is treated as a separate contest.

The fact that Rannie is a repeat runner-up means that he's submitted great images every time. Also, every time he submitted 3 photos and split his own votes (which he is aware of).

I could have posted just the winner, but I felt that all were deserving of a nod.

Easy now... down boys.

So there it is....

A) I should have submitted one image.

B) I should have submitted something that SCREAMED autumn... I was trying to go for the subtle approach.

And I do believe that was the last of the camcorders eh.

Time to return the ipod and psp and reinvest.

Thanks to all the folks at BlogTO, I had a great time pulling out my hair trying to figure out what to submit.

Anybody notice the difference in colours between this post and the "original" picture posted on flickr?

Do I still get that honourable mention Kiss from the BlogTO staff of my choice?

Hey sookie, resizing and saving as lower quality jpeg does change the histogram slightly (very similar colours and intensities are clustered, which is what makes the file size smaller) but the colours shouldn't change to any noticeable extent. I reuploaded a jpeg at quality level 7 (it was previously at 6) and can't see any differences now. How is it on your monitor now? Better?

Thanks so much for the honourable mention. To be in the same league as photojunkie was competition in ittself. Thanks again! Looking forward to the next round.

Jerrold, Looks much better at 7. The autumn colours are more striking and comparable to the original.

If Rannie would learn to at least clean up his images, and shoot an engaging subject, maybe he'd do better than a token mention. Submitting multiple images won't help. Basic understanding of composition and proper exposure would be a good start.
