Transitional Space On The Danforth

Posted by / May 12, 2006

blogmay12_cherylrock1.jpgI recently went to check out my artist friend Cheryl Rock's latest showing down at the William Stephen Gallery (439 Danforth Ave.).

The mixed media artist melds West Indian culture and African heritage to create a profound statement on the Black Canadian experience. At least that's what I got out of it.

To use that old turn of phrase, " I don't know much about art, but I know what I like."

Transitional Space runs until May 26.

I've seen this a couple times walking by... The metal sculptures they've had in the window are simply amazing. I'm definitely going to have to check it out soon.

My first thought when I saw this photo was "those would make wicked tatoos!"
