Randy Knott is a multi-disciplined artist/designer who works on commercial and non-commercial projects. He graduated with a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design which has enabled him to develop a well rounded and versatile knowledge base that he uses in both his audio and visual work. Co-founder of Iamstatic and Iamstatic Studio, Knott is currently focusing most of his energy on animated short films and his music.

However, this past Summer, Knott showed his Pile Up series of drawings at Resistor Gallery. The work is comprised of large, bold, graphic pieces that include plenty of facial details. Knott used both simple black and white techniques paired with brightly coloured pieces to balance and contrast the show.

This Fall, Knott was one of the featured artists in 'The Artillerist' exhibition at Pixel Gallery in Kensington Market. The show juxtaposed guns, art and interactivity, satirically promoting the use of guns that make art - not war.

Knott claims that his music inspires his visuals and his visuals, in return, inspire his music. They feed each other back and forth and obviously produce some pretty intriguing results. In the future, Knott hopes to create work which will allow him to meld these two media together.
