An avid reader, Jesse Harris creates art that features language and the alphabet. Inspired by everything from art history to graphic design to teenage delinquency, his work is sometimes theatrical in nature infused with an us vs them message.
A graduate of Guelph University, he mostly took photography in school but touched on printmaking, illustration and sculpture as well. Today, his work transcends traditional artistic practice and infuses many of the skills he learned as a student. They key for him is to focus on big ideas out of which will hopefully come some radical work.
Harris has shown in various places in Toronto and Montreal. Most recently he had a solo exhibition at LE Gallery and participated in an unofficial Nuit Blanche art piece. He's currently working on a 100 page book that he's planning to self publish along with his conceptual newspaper.

Jesse's work is totally sick. It's the kind of stuff that makes me think "if only I'd come up with this..." Some very clever wordplay. I love it.
Jesse, I have been looking at your work and I have to say that it is amazing. You are a real talent and I hope you have many more successes (how ever you define that).
I hope all is well and keeping making this wonderful stuff.
