Geoffrey Pugen likes to mess with things. He creates and manipulates landscapes where pigs fly and humans have furry wolf heads. But perhaps that should be expected? Here we have that rare artist who is both a UBC theatre arts grad and trained in integrated media at OCAD. His futuristic aesthetic and disposition for social critique results in bizarre interpretations of the intersection between the human and animal kingdom.
Beyond his photographic exploits, Pugen also creates highly original videos like Fictional Dance Party and 4 Girls and a Tiger. It's tough to tell what influences him more - Escape from the Planet of the Apes or campy 1980's music videos?

Fantastic artist.
His work reminds me of Julia Fullerton-Batten.
