Amanda Nedham
About the Artist
Amanda Nedham's work is the conception of print making and drawing in the digital world. A recent award winning OCAD graduate in printmaking, Nedham also spent her third year in Florence, where she focused on drawing because of lack of print making facilities. The result gave birth to an intricate technique of drawing, collage and digital printmaking which would multiply and connect her work in a remarkable web of details in lines and figures. The process itself involves drawing, scanning, collage and repeating. She brings her work back and forth from graphite to Photoshop over and over again, building layer upon layer, connecting the past to the present.
Nedham says, "Unpredictable incidents and marks, not unlike what happens with an etching plate, directly informed the next step as layers encrusted layers, serving to convolute the original meaning. It was the discovery of what emerged when the lines began to autonomously construct something altogether new that led me to the current incarnation of my work."
Currently, she is working on a series of pieces which have substituted Photoshop with mylar and created two separate drawings which she interweaves through working on them as a whole. In the upcoming year, Nedham has been accepted to do an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim in Venice.

Yay Amanda! Congrats on your artist bio here, very impressive.
Also, to anyone who hasn't seen Amanda's work in real life, her pieces are HUGE and insanely detailed. These previews do them no justice.
I'm a big fan of the sketch type art, very pretty to look at. Almost soothing.
I plan on checking out your blog Amanda. great work.
