The top 7 new yoga studios in Toronto

Toronto is definitely not lacking in its yoga studios. If your goal is to start practicing yoga, or get even better at it, there are some great new options to choose from. Yoga studios are becoming more than just a place to practice yoga, and are increasingly overall wellness hubs where you can take in a relaxing massage or meditation after a round of sun salutations.

Here are my picks for the top new yoga studios in Toronto.

Yoga Star
This Roncesvalles studio offers a range of classes including Hatha Flow, Power Yoga, Kids and Family Yoga. They also have their own iPhone and Android apps so you can easily get the latest schedule. Thai massage and art therapy round out their services.

Toronto Bodyworks
Toronto Bodyworks has two locations with its newest near Richmond and Duncan in the Club District. The Duncan location has one large yoga studio for Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha and Candelight Restorative classes. They also offer acupuncture and massages.

Yoga Sanctuary
This popular studio packed up and moved from College Park to Wood Street a few blocks away. Still keeping its charm and fierce devotion to teaching all levels yoga, Yoga Sanctuary takes you through Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Pilates classes. There are two rooms, with most classes held in the larger one.

Mibody
This Mimico studio combines yoga with group fitness, nutritional counselling and individual training. Go here for Iyengar, Power and a Mom-Baby yoga fusion bootcamps.

Yogaville
This Leslieville studios connects yogis with a caffeine fix. Owner Mahyar Raz (who holds the highest Iyengar Yoga certificate in Canada) runs the studio with her son and all the teachers here have practiced and learned with Mahyar herself. Need a coffee before the class? You're in luck as there's a coffee shop located in front of the studio.

Yoga Yoga
This Junction Triangle studio focuses on doing one thing really well: Power Vinyasa yoga. The classes are heated to a comfortable 28 degrees, and host events that are yoga-related and private functions. And their pricing is low for yoga in the city (currently $79/month for unlimited).

YYoga Harboufront
YYoga has over 13 locations in Toronto and Vancouver including this one on Queens Quay. There's a wide variety of yoga classes offered throughout the week including Hatha, Power, Restorative and their signature YHot. The yoga classes are offered in a 2-room space. What's more restorative and balancing than views of the water while in warrior pose?
