ART | Me Love You Long Time
Constant yearning--for love and admiration, power and glory, money and objects--is what artist Ness Lee examines in her new exhibit Me Love You Long Time. The materialism of sex, love and life, and the lack of satisfaction caused by insatiable human desire, are drawn out literally and figuratively in Lee's illustrations. The muted but colourful images in Lee's Eastern iconographic style are available for viewing from 12-5pm daily at Gladstone Hotel Art Bar with an opening reception happening tonight.
Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West) 7PM Free

MUSIC | Jonah K Album Release Party
Underground dubstep DJ Jonah K plays Lula Lounge tonight to celebrate the release of his new album Metal & Bone, a melding of drum and bass-infused electro dance beats. The first ten people through the door get a free CD and there are more prizes to be won. This is a 19+ event.

FOOD | Edward Pond's Creative Chef: The Food Lovers' Quarrel
Toronto-based food photographer Edward Pond hosts a party for local creatives working in non-food related industries, such as advertising and design, that will challenge how they look at the culinary arts. The food lovers' quarrel is simple--the creatives must design the most outrageous/beautiful/odd culinary combinations they can imagine using corn as a main ingredient. One chef will be crowned the victor at Mildred's Temple Kitchen tonight.
Mildred's Temple Kitchen (85 Hanna Avenue) 6PM $15
