MUSIC | Peter Turns Pirate, Mystery Skulls, The Mollies, Playing With Kitties
Tuesday nights at Rancho Relaxo are always interesting but tonight's line-up is an eclectic mix of experimental music. Openers Playing With Kitties will start the night off with some heavy rock, followed by Toronto electro hip-hop group The Mollies. The energetic synthpop of Angelenos Mystery Skulls will make it worth your while even before headliner solo act Peter Turns Pirate, a Torontonian electronic artist, steps on stage. SPORT | Urban Exploration Walk 12--TTC Track Trek
Those looking to explore the city on a less-beaten path will be pleased to learn that Urban Exploration Walk is holding its 12th city walk this evening. Taking a less conventional path, Urban Walkers will be following the TTC tracks beginning at Victoria Park station down a 6km route to Warden Station and back. Walkers will meet outside the main doors of the station and can expect the urban hike to take up to 2.5 hours.

CULTURE | Ashkenaz Festival
Yiddish and Jewish artists and musicians from around the globe gather at the Harbourfront Centre today for the beginning of the Ashkenaz Festival, a cultural celebration connecting Jewish and non-Jewish communities. In its 9th year, Ashkenaz will feature musical performances by 80 acts like Yemen Blues, Shye Ben Tzu and Socalled with over 200 artists from a dozen countries performing theatrical, musical, and dance pieces. The festival runs through Labour Day.

FILM | DOC Toronto Community Connections: El Contrato Screening
When Min Sook Lee's 2003 documentary El Contrato was released, it examined the working conditions and lifestyle of migrant workers in southern Ontario, raising questions about workers' rights. Almost ten years later, the film will be revisited during a free screening and discussion of the improvements since at the Evergreen Brick Works this evening. Min Sook Lee and the film's subject, migrant worker Teodoro Bello Martinez, will participate in a discussion with agriculture worker rights experts, moderated by filmmaker David Adkin. This is the inaugural screening of the DOC Toronto Community Connections Project, which seeks to connect filmmakers with the community by discussing the issues in their films.
