Radar: Play Me, I'm Yours, The Black Marks, TEDxTuesdays, We Don't Know What This Conversation Is Going To Make

MUSIC | Play Me, I'm Yours
British installation artist Luke Jerram is avoiding the day the music will die by bringing music to Toronto's city streets. Play Me, I'm Yours is an international art project where colourful pianos are dropped off on city streets for citizens to play as part of an effort to regain control of public spaces. The project has already had wide success in cities like New York, Sydney and London and tonight marks the arrival of Toronto's public pianos with a free concert in David Pecaut Square hosted by Jian Ghomeshi and DJ Starting From Scratch.

FILM | The Black Marks
Calling all movie buffs: the National Film Board will be hosting a free preview screening of the new heist comedy The Black Marks tonight at the Mediatheque. Starring Kurt Russell, Matt Dillon and Jay Baruchel, the film follows an art thief as he assembles his old friends for one final heist before retirement. The film is slated for release in 2013 but the NFB Mediatheque is seeking feedback tonight, following the movie. To attend, e-mail screening_rsvp@hotmail.com.

CULTURE | TEDxTuesdays
TEDxTuesdays begin tonight with an idea sharing session on the topic of "The Evolving Culture of Sharing," an in-depth look at how traditional attitudes of trust and community are being redefined through modern technology. Each month, the TEDxToronto Salon Series hosts a creative discussion amongst ideamakers and entrepreneurs moderated by a mystery expert in the field. Global TED Talks will be screened and the public is invited to get involved in the conversation. Admission is on a first come, first served basis.

ART | We Don't Know What This Conversation Is Going To Make
Aman Sandhu and Swapnaa Tamhane are thinking outside of the box--from within one--at the opening of their exhibit We Don't Know What This Conversation Is Going To Make at Interaccess this evening. Working within a Plexiglas box while mapping out ideas for their next art piece, Sandhu and Tamhane will sit in conversation in the gallery window after hours with the audio of their discussions streaming live on ustream.tv. An exercise in thinking beyond limitations, the conversations will last two to three hours and will focus on a piece to remain inside the Plexiglas box once they are gone.
Interaccess Electronic Media Arts Centre (9 Ossington Avenue) 8PM Free
